We are delighted to share that the Environmental Protection Agency recently granted resource consent under the COVID-19 Fast Track Consenting Act for Stage 1 of the Ngongotahā Housing Development providing for 202 residential dwellings, a complex of artificial wetlands, ecological improvements to Te Toto Stream, neighbourhood park and new shared path connections to Ngongotahā Village. The project will provide a significant contribution to the housing shortage in the Rotorua Lakes District. We are proud to have provided the planning services to secure this important project for Watchman Capital Residential.   We want to thank the project team from McKenzie & Co. Adopting Virtual Reality within the design process. In our recent project for a large residential development in Auckland, Virtual Reality (VR) technology played a crucial role in presenting the layout and design of the proposed neighbourhood. It provided our design team, potential buyers, and the developer with a realistic preview of the project. We used Twinmotion to create a detailed VR model and elevation #renders, with real-time adjustments in the model and support from Twinmotion’s team. #VR integration offered a unified view of the project, aiding decision-making and coordination across teams. By merging architectural and landscape models, we streamlined render exports and provided a comprehensive vision of the neighbourhood. As VR technology continues to advance, its role in architecture will expand, leading to improved graphics, interfaces, and interactivity. This advancement will enhance #collaboration among architects, construction teams, and #stakeholders, especially for large scale and #infrastructure projects. It will facilitate greater satisfaction with the design, better decision-making, and early issue detection, ultimately reducing costly changes during #construction.
