This year’s Superbowl saw an incredible upset by the Philadelphia Eagles, loads of celebrity sightings and massive ads. Yet, one of the most talked about parts is Kendrick Lamar’s half-time performance. Namely, his diss track of Drake, ‘Not like us’, which even included a stage appearance by his ex Serena Williams. Whether or not the performance was in poor taste, is up for debate. But what isn’t, is the stunning 430% spike in listens to the track. That's a heck of an ROI. The moral of the story? We can talk about product features and specs, but at the end of the day, people love a great story. People love drama. Maybe there’s something brands can learn from here.
