At Coach For Life, we’re passionate about highlighting inspirational stories that align with our mission so we are truly proud to showcase the commitment of some remarkable coaches in our new documentary “The Snow Coaches”. This 30min film delves into the legendary tale of the Kiwi Park & Pipe coaching team and how they broke new ground by bringing snowboarders and freestyle skiers together in one programme, creating a coaching philosophy that would deliver Olympic medals for New Zealand. Coach For Life Foundation
Sports and Recreation Instruction
Reframing the value of coaching to help grow the quality of youth sport coaches across New Zealand.
About us
The Coach for Life Foundation has been established by Jon & Sue Tanner and a group of foundation Trustees via their Charitable Trust, the Sport Development and Innovation Charitable Trust with a clear objective of growing the quality of youth sport coaches in New Zealand. We believe that quality youth sport coaching helps grow, nurture and develop our young athletes to become better athletes, better people, and better New Zealanders. If we can enhance the capability of our youth sport coaches we believe young athletes will have richer sporting experiences and are more likely to stay in sport longer. To achieve this the Coach for Life Foundation is committed to delivering programmes of work that provide our youth sport coaches with resources and inspiration to enable them to provide quality sporting experiences for our youth.

Over the past 2 days we have been lucky enough to attend the bi-annual Secondary Schools Sport Conference hosted by Sport New Zealand and School Sport NZ. This years theme - "Moving through Change" underscores the importance of adapting to the societal and sectoral shifts impacting school sports and was explored through five key areas: Technology, Education, Sport, Environmental, and Rangatahi (youth). What better way to connect with nearly 450 delegates to educate them about our free sports coaching hub (www.hub.coachforlife.nz) and meet our existing coach network and welcome new members to our community. Every day, coaches give their time to make a difference in the lives of young Kiwis so we are proud to partner with Sport New Zealand to help celebrate these everyday heroes. Thank them for everything they do at www.thankscoach.co.nz Jon Tanner (QSM)
Great coaches hide in plain sight – they could be a bus driver, doctor, or accountant. Do you know a coach who’s an everyday hero? Sport NZ, in collaboration with Coach For Life Foundation, has launched a new campaign which aligns with the end of the winter sport season for many young people. ‘Everyday Heroes’ aims to make coaches feel recognised and valued for their important role in our communities. Anyone can let a coach know much they mean by sending them a personalised thank you message for another great season at thankscoach.co.nz 🖤

Thanks NEW ZEALAND CRICKET 💙🧡 We exist to inspire coaches to make a difference so that our rangatahi have more positive sporting experiences resulting in a lifetime love and involvement in sport so we're thrilled to be able to support your coaching community and we welcome any youth sport coaches to join us.
Join Coach For Life Foundation & former BLACKCAPS coach, Mike Hesson, as he discusses the importance of understanding and working with the team culture already present, rather than imposing a team culture onto a team. 💡 Find more coaching stories, advice and lessons for FREE on hub.coachforlife.nz, or watch the full video series with Mike at coach.nzc.nz. #CricketNation #CoachForLifenz

Our Foundation exists to inspire coaches to make a difference so that our rangatahi have more positive sporting experiences, resulting in a lifetime love and involvement in sport. Equally, our coaches will also be inspired to grow and develop themselves, and therefore stay involved in coaching for longer. We are therefore thrilled to be able to support and contribute to the coaching resources section on the NEW ZEALAND CRICKET app by sharing our Mike Hesson advice videos from our own Coach For Life coaching hub. I am really excited to see the inclusion of a ‘coaching resources’ section within the NEW ZEALAND CRICKET app, this will enable easier access to our game library, resource hub and learning modules for all community coaches, thanks Ben Mackey for your support with this 🏏📱 #coaching #app #cricket

Being inspired by others to lead a life of philanthropy is a testament to the power of human connection and the innate desire to make a difference in the world. It's a journey that often begins with witnessing acts of kindness, generosity, and selflessness in others. Today we acknowledge the passing of Keith William Tanner, our founder Jon Tanner’s beloved father, and say thank you for the legacy of philanthropy that continues within the Tanner family.

Our CEO Andrew Gaze is featured in this months issue of Kia Ora magazine... why? Because we're thrilled to announce that one of our special coach documentaries featuring Tony O'Connor is not only available to view on our Hub but it's now available on Air New Zealand's inflight entertainment. How good is that! https://lnkd.in/gGy4D6Mj
