Cosgroves were proud to sponsor 'The Lads' as they took on EVolocity! ⚡ EVolocity is a programme for intermediate and high school aged children that aims to inspire sustainable engineering whilst highlighting the economic and environmental benefits of EVs. Manufacturing a bike or electric kart with sustainability in mind is the aim of the game and all teams were given electric motor kits and some basic guidelines to follow, but creativity was the crux of success! We supported 'The Lads' with the expenses to build their kart that won them the Earth Care Award! Using Recycled materials such as old tables, bicycles and batteries, the boys had a pretty epic kart. This Movember, Cosgroves' company-wide initiative will get our staff MOving. Cosgroves will donate to the foundation for every photo that gets submitted of our staff getting out and active -simple as that! We have some great individual efforts too- Nick Rochford has already fundraised over $1000 in 4 days! Tone Kanthasao is running 5km every day in November. Our Tahi Star Award winner for the September/October period went to Michael Clemens who is an integral member of our CAD/Revit team and has truly exemplified our core values. Michael has demonstrated the strength of collective power, working effectively with clients and project partners to ensure the seamless delivery of project requirements. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence is reflected in the high-quality documentation he produces, which has earned commendation for Cosgroves. Fantastic work Michael, well deserved!

We are excited to welcome our two summer interns, Steve and Tanmayi, who will be joining Cosgroves in November as part of our electrical team. Over the summer, they’ll gain hands-on experience, contribute to real projects, and collaborate with our talented engineers. Steve (in the blue) will be based in Christchurch and he brings a unique perspective from his experience as an electrician. He’s looking forward to exploring the design side of building services and understanding the purpose behind the systems he once installed. In Auckland, Tanmayi is eager to sharpen her engineering skills and collaborate closely with experienced professionals to apply what she’s learned in a real-world setting. We’re thrilled to have them on board and can’t wait to see the energy they bring to the team this summer! ⚡

Our Auckland team recently unleashed their competitive side at laser tag, thanks to our epic Social Club! Events like these remind us that building strong connections and having fun outside the office are just as important as delivering great work. We are keeping things balanced, energised, and connected here at Cosgroves!

What an impressive sight!

On Tuesday, we celebrated World Car Free Day by swapping our car keys for bike helmets, bus passes, and running shoes! Our staff who shook up their commute not only got to enjoy a coffee on Cosgroves as a reward, but also reduced their carbon footprint. 🌱 Small initiatives like this remind us of the importance of collective power—when over one-third of our team opted for a car-free commute, it showed how simple changes can make a big impact. Let's keep pushing for greener choices every day. Next year, we hope to see Alan Callery actually ride a Penny Farthing to work!
