Congratulations to Trevor Stuthridge and the team at Cetogenix on being announced as PwC Breakthrough Project Finalist at the 2024 KiwiNet Research Commercialisation awards. Based at Scion in Rotorua, Cetogenix is a global-focused climate tech company unlocking the hidden potential of organic waste streams to deliver renewable carbon resources. The award is in recognition of the Ceto-Boost™ platform which uses the power of hydrothermal oxidation (a process that involves heat and pressure to generate chemical reactions) to precisely deconstruct and ultimately transform waste into useful products, such as renewable natural gas, renewable chemicals, and biomaterials. At scale this technology will be instrumental in replacing our reliance on fossil resources. It was an actioned packed AGM starting with Nigel Tutt giving us a brief regional economic update. Then CEO Nina Le Lievre, began the formalities of the AGM which included Bill Murphy giving his last Chair report before handing over the position to Carolyn Culliney. We take this opportunity to thank Bill for his huge contribution to Enterprise Angels over the years. Following the AGM we had our Pitches from some exciting kiwi startups. Baden P. from ProTag shared their smart ear tag technology which tracks and monitor animal health.
