Congratulations to Trevor Stuthridge and the team at Cetogenix on being announced as PwC Breakthrough Project Finalist at the 2024 KiwiNet Research Commercialisation awards. Based at Scion in Rotorua, Cetogenix is a global-focused climate tech company unlocking the hidden potential of organic waste streams to deliver renewable carbon resources. The award is in recognition of the Ceto-Boost™ platform which uses the power of hydrothermal oxidation (a process that involves heat and pressure to generate chemical reactions) to precisely deconstruct and ultimately transform waste into useful products, such as renewable natural gas, renewable chemicals, and biomaterials. At scale this technology will be instrumental in replacing our reliance on fossil resources. Enterprise Angels first invested in Cetogenix back in January 2022 and is thrilled to see the progress this cleantech company is making. https://lnkd.in/gV_vuap5 #cleantech #angelinvesting #organicwaste #wasteinnovation #startup

#EnterpriseAngels - Investment for growth!
About us
Enterprise Angels offers a unique model of early stage investing in New Zealand connecting early stage companies with business angels to maximise success. We believe that growing innovative, socially and environmentally responsible companies is the key to ensuring people, communities, businesses, the environment, and the economy thrive. Enterprise Angels has a professional management team, efficient processes and rigorous due diligence to mitigate investor risk. We consider our model as ‘best practice’ for investing in early stage companies, which is inherently risky. While investment funds are always important, we regard the skills and experience our management team and business angels bring to the investee companies as being even more important. Through our team, members and partners we aim to add real value as well as capital to portfolio companies. Enterprise Angels members make individual investment decisions but do so together drawing on each other’s experience and expertise. This approach increases the returns from and success of investments. Our objective is to connect experienced investors with entrepreneurs and innovators. Enterprise Angels members will consider investing in businesses from all industry sectors and at any stage of growth, from seed to post-revenue. However we invest most actively in things we can ‘kick’ – innovative businesses in the agriculture, dairy, horticulture, engineering, food and clean tech industries. The experience we can draw from our member pool is vast and crucial in helping many early stage businesses and concepts grow to their full potential. Enterprise Angels is a member of the Angel Association of New Zealand (AANZ), a network of more than a dozen angel groups and funds throughout the country.

Super stoked to see Emerge listed as one of two kiwi startups in the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch. https://lnkd.in/gW8a8kfU Emerge is a digital first business banking alternative that has two offerings: SquareOne, the platform for parents to help teach their kids to manage money in a digital first world and Emerge, a digital first business banking platform targeting SMEs. It provides a new way of managing money for business owners and operators We first met founders Jovan Pavlicevic and Jamie Jermain in 2021. We were impressed with these guys and their vision and made our first investment in SquareOne in October that year. Subsequent investment rounds have followed since. We were thrilled to have Jovan Pavlicevic join us at our EA Fund's AGM last month to give us an update on the exciting progress this company continues to make. Emerge is one of the disruptive, innovative, high growth New Zealand startups that form part of the EA Fund 4 portfolio. 🚀 Leadership Transition at Enterprise Angels! 🚀 Back in 2008, Bill Murphy founded Enterprise Angels to help startups raise capital and gain more than just financial support. Since then, we’ve invested over $70 million in 110+ startups across various industries, creating over 1,600 jobs! 🌟 At our AGM this week, Bill passed the torch to Carolyn Culliney as our new Chair. Carolyn, a board member since 2020 and part of the EA Nominee board, brings a wealth of investment knowledge from her role at Cooney Lees Morgan. Bill expressed his confidence in our future, saying, “Fresh leadership is an exciting time for an organisation, and I’m assured that Enterprise Angels is in good hands with Carolyn and Nina Le Lievre leading it.” Here’s to continued success and growth! 🎉 Thanks to NBR - National Business Review for your coverage of this leadership transition. #EnterpriseAngels #Leadership #Startups #Investment #AGM #NewBeginnings #angelinvesting

Huge thanks to Priority One Western Bay of Plenty for hosting our AGM and Pitch Night at The University of Waikato Tauranga Campus. It was an actioned packed AGM starting with Nigel Tutt giving us a brief regional economic update. Then CEO Nina Le Lievre, began the formalities of the AGM which included Bill Murphy giving his last Chair report before handing over the position to Carolyn Culliney. We take this opportunity to thank Bill for his huge contribution to Enterprise Angels over the years. Following the AGM we had our Pitches from some exciting kiwi startups. Baden P. from ProTag shared their smart ear tag technology which tracks and monitor animal health. Simon Malpas from Kitea Health gave an update on the progress of the trails and interest in their accurate implantable sensor for heart failure and hydrocephalus.
