-Transition to lower emissions steel making can go further, faster- CE Robin Davies announced yesterday, that our partnership with government & industry to change the way we make steel at our Glenbrook site, could cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to one million tonnes per annum, 200,000 tonnes more per annum than previously advised. Another step in sustaining our critical domestic steel supply into the low-carbon, climate-resilient future. Commissioning of the new plant is also expected to be brought forward to the end of 2025, rather than 2026, with civil works well underway. His new role at TVNZ further highlights the exceptional talent and leadership we have on our board. John Fellet is a well-known figure in New Zealand's broadcasting industry, having served as the CEO of Sky TV New Zealand from 2001 to 2019. Fellet's leadership was pivotal in transforming Sky into a major player in New Zealand’s television landscape. John Fellet has also made significant contributions to baseball in New Zealand, including being inducted into the Baseball New Zealand Hall of Fame in 2017 and playing an influential role on the Board of Directors for Baseball New Zealand for many years. The Tuhoro family first connected with Mr. Fellet in the 90s through their involvement in the New Zealand Baseball Federation. Since then, Mr. Fellet has continued to be a guiding force, serving as a business mentor, partner, and friend to both GMS and the Tuhoro family.
