For our experiences in South Africa, we are very pleased to work with Abang Africa Travel. Since Abang Africa opened in 2005, they have been a pioneer in eco-tourism and responsible travel in South Africa. They focus on crafting experiences that have a positive impact, are carbon neutral, and are created in partnership with sustainable partners. They operate with transparency and care and have extensive knowledge about sustainable tourism options in the region. Abang Africa was also the first Travelife-certified tour operator in the world and is an advocate for reform in the industry. From forests to drylands to farmlands, humanity’s existence depends on ecosystems. Yet, they are reaching a tipping point – and it is up to all of us to restore our land and soil. Wednesday is World Environment Day: https://lnkd.in/g8RBQ3q via UN Environment Programme

Today we celebrate the environment, the ecosystems, the forests, the oceans, the biodiversity - the wonders of our planet. 🌍 World Environment Day calls for us to reflect on our impact on the environment and take action to support land restoration and regeneration. 🌱 How are you celebrating the environment today? 💚 #generationrestoration #worldenvironmentday #wed2024 #environment #climateaction #tourism

A regenerative journey is both a personal and professional journey. Josie Major and I are thrilled to be collaborating with Dianne Dredge, PhD and Nadine S. at The Tourism CoLab for this free webinar on June 19th: Evolving ourselves and our organisations: Becoming the Centre for GOOD Travel. Join us as we share what drew us into regeneration as a way to think, see, and be differently in the world. We'll describe how bringing a regenerative lens to everything we do has transformed The Centre for GOOD Travel and resulted significant shifts in understanding our contribution, how we work, and what we offer. We hope to see you there! All details are below.
📣 The Tourism CoLab Guest Speaker Series is going into the next round: We are honored and stoked to have our awesome allies Debbie Clarke and Josie Major from The Centre for GOOD Travel doing a free online webinar this month on Wednesday, 19th June: 🔉 Evolving Ourselves and our Organisations: Becoming The Centre For GOOD Travel ⏱ Wednesday, 19th June: 1hr webinar at 9:00pm AEST // 1.00pm CET // 12.00pm BST // 7.00am EST 👩🎓 Join us for an exploration of what it can mean to evolve ourselves and our organizations as stewards of regenerative approaches in tourism. Josie Major and Debbie Clarke will share the parallel stories of their personal development as regenerative practitioners - the learning, practice and inner work - alongside the evolution of The Centre for GOOD Travel as a tourism business embracing regenerative ways of working. Now offering regenerative storytelling and capability building services alongside sustainable and responsible group tours, The Centre for GOOD Travel is a unique model of bridging the gap between tourism operations and regenerative thought leadership. Becoming The Centre for GOOD Travel has involved deep reflection, rediscovering their essence, uncovering their unique potential, and developing a new understanding of themselves as part of complex living systems within which they can make a more significant contribution than they ever could have imagined previously. Through sharing their personal and organizational evolution stories, Josie and Debbie hope to showcase an example of the non-linear developmental process of regenerative work, share some of the wins and challenges of their ongoing journey, and invite others into the process of evolving themselves and their organizations. 🖥 This will be a public online webinar, so feel free to share with like-minded colleagues. Check your time zone here https://lnkd.in/gPCmTtjb Join by using the following link at the start time on Wednesday 19th June: https://lnkd.in/g5TTbxuF. PS: If you haven't listened to it yet, check out their fantastic podcast about regenerative approaches across Aotearoa / New Zealand: https://lnkd.in/giHrUBza Looking forward to seeing you there. In April, Josie Major and Debbie Clarke led a storytelling workshop with members from tourism businesses and the Regional Tourism Organisation in Te Tai Tokerau Northland, Aotearoa New Zealand. This one-day workshop began with exploring stories of the places and communities that make up Northland, and the uniqueness and diversity within these. From this grounding in place, they then explored the stories of the different organisations present and the power and potential regenerative storytelling could have in their unique context. Some key areas covered in the workshop included: ✨ Crafting stories of place in a way that draws on our uniqueness and potential 🌱 Reflecting on the relationships we have to place and what stories we are in a position to uniquely tell 🫶 Exploring who has the right to tell which stories 💚 Considering the potential of storytelling in tourism to connect and engage on deeper levels, both within communities and with visitors 🌏 Applying systems thinking to our storytelling - exploring the stories we tell of our projects and organisations, the stories we tell through our work, and how our stories could contribute to a greater context Interested in a Storytelling Workshop for your organisation?
