Wow! The disability sector is sure having a hard time right now. And it’s not the only one. Austerity measures reign supreme and it's hard to watch what's happening across Aotearoa New Zealand currently. This is a great time to stay connected, to come together as peers, and talk about what's possible. There is so much we can do to keep the momentum of service transformation of support services going, so that persons with lived experience of impairment or disability, and their families, experience the best (for them), and consistent, person-directed service. We can't wait to hold space to host you and your colleagues at our next event. All the details are here... https://lnkd.in/g9rbkFBg Kia kaha koutou.

Transforming service ~ being human at home, at work, and in the community
About us
Humanly is a social enterprise that was established in July 2020, in the Waikato, by Lisa Clausen (Facilitator and Changeologist) and Janelle Fisher (Facilitator and Community Psychologist), who both fiercely believe that relationships are the real currency of business (Bajic, 2015). At Humanly, we are passionate about ‘human beings being human’, at home, at work, and in the community - something that has been overtaken in many parts of our busy, impersonal, technology-driven lives. Humanly strives to support organisations to enable them to support their teams to be authentically human at work, and to strengthen their connection culture. By working with leaders and their people to co-create solutions that foster wellbeing, quality service delivery, innovation and productivity, resilience and adaptability to change, we are also helping to shape environments that humans can thrive in. Humanly delivers by consulting, facilitation, coaching and training. When a connection culture is co-created, the benefits experienced by internal customers (stakeholders within the business) - essentially feeling valued, connected and that they belong - will flow through to external customers by positively impacting their customer experience, as well as interactions with other stakeholders. The benefits to community will emerge as the number of people thriving in society increases – because, mostly, those who are enabled to flourish in life become those who give back most to community. Everyone has their own experience of the difference between an interaction that recognises and respects your humanity, and one that doesn’t. The value-add of the human connection is priceless. Humanly works closely with the disability sector, community organisations, SMEs and corporates, across Aotearoa New Zealand. Humanly contributes 10 per cent of surplus after costs, from every sale, to deliver on our social impact to create and nurture better human connection in communities. Happy humaning!

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! If you're familiar with Humanly and Being Humanly's work, you'll know we're all about supporting organisations in human services to enable good lives - regardless of a lack of funding, the policies of the government of the day, or demonstrations to trial EGL funding and "rollouts". Enabling good lives (lower case letters) is a 'how' - not a 'what' - and the how is 'now'. And it has always been now. While funding workforce development to support organisations to shift closer towards consistent and sustainable person-directed practice isn't a happening thing, people's lives very much still are. The lives of the persons and families you serve, and the lives of you and your team. Being Humanly is super excited to announce the upcoming release of Phase 1 of a brand new online, self-paced, service transformation offering. Persons with lived experience of impairment and/or disability should not wait another day for us and our teams to do the gritty mahi to improve how we are of service. People's lives literally depend on it ❤️ #enablinggoodlivesisahow #accessiblelearningopportunities #thankyoutoouramazingtesters

Being human in human services – apparently it’s radical! We discuss the challenges and opportunities that disability support services face as they seek to do the right thing and shift the way they serve persons with disabilities – to ensure the person is always in the driver’s seat and driving their life experience. If you've been curious about our work and how we support services to explore how they are being of service, and what they need to do to shift their organisation closer towards sustainable person-directed practice, have a listen to our six-episode podcast about transforming lives by transforming service. We'd love your feedback, too. 😉 #transforminglivestransformingservice #humanlystory #servicetransformationjourneys https://lnkd.in/gtqNGKaA
