We're Kiwi Property, one of the largest property companies on NZX with a commitment to creating connected communities.

About us

Kiwi Property is one of the largest listed property companies on the New Zealand Stock Exchange and we're all about creating exceptional places, with and for exceptional people. We’ve been around for more than 30 years and we proudly own and manage a portfolio of real estate comprising some of New Zealand’s best shopping centres and prime office buildings. Founded in 1992, we listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange in December 1993 as Kiwi Income Property Trust, New Zealand's first listed property trust. In December 2013, we internalised our management, and in December 2014, we moved from a trust to a company structure. At the same time, we changed our name to Kiwi Property. Kiwi Property invests only in New Zealand real estate, owning a portfolio of core retail and office assets located across the country. Our objective, which has served investors well for the past two decades, has not changed: we remain committed to providing investors with a secure, reliable investment in New Zealand property, and will continue to target superior risk-adjusted returns over time through the ownership and active management of a diversified, high-quality portfolio.

Colour My Style, the ultimate fashion companion for our customers across the country, has launched – available at Auckland’s Sylvia Park and LynnMall, Hamilton’s The Base and Centre Place, Palmerston North’s The Plaza, and Christchurch’s Northlands.    This clever AI tech tool has been designed to help customers understand the colours that will best accentuate and complement their natural colour base, and then connect them with personalised clothing and accessory recommendations from their local centre’s fashion retailers. Customers simply take a photo of their face and let Colour My Style work its magic. Based on their photo, it analyses their natural colours based on hair, eye, and skin tone and finally recommends the best clothing colour palette for them. After the colour palette has been analysed, a range of product recommendations that align with the range of hues will be displayed. Colour My Style is available from Thursday 12th September to Tuesday 15th October 2024, and every customer that uses Colour My Style automatically goes into the draw to win a $500 shopping spree at their local Kiwi Property-managed shopping centre. #colourmystyle #colouranalysis #springfashion Karlee Lightbourne, Lucy Eberhardt, Kim Gillis, Karla Robertson, Vanessa Mace, Shelley Gayford, Stacey Kitchen

Today is Daffodil Day! Our Northlands team in Christchurch has a special relationship with neighbours the Canterbury Cancer Centre and is supporting the Cancer Society of New Zealand’s efforts this Daffodil Day by raising awareness and encouraging donations. This year’s Daffodil Day campaign was launched on Monday in the Northlands centre by Nicola Coom, Chief Executive of the Cancer Society Canterbury – West Coast, revealing our large daffodil display in the Northlands centre court with a scannable QR code to make donations easy. Volunteers will be on-site collecting from 10am to 4pm, and the local radio crew from More FM Canterbury will join from 12pm to 2pm to spread awareness and give away prizes including a $100 gift voucher donated by Northlands to encourage people to donate.

It's such a pleasure to witness our Resido community connect and grow and to enable it further through events organised by our resident services team. Last week, we hosted a resident mixer in the Pavilion with drinks, snacks and live music from one of our talented residents. This event was a great opportunity for our new community members to get to know their neighbours and the friendly on-site Resido team. Facilitating connection with neighbours and fostering a sense of belonging are key principles of creating a successful build-to-rent community. The greater the connection, the longer our residents are likely to stay, and with leases available for up to 10 years, our residents can feel confident that they can settle in for the long term and lay down roots. A big thank you to Andrew E. of NZGBC and Chris Penk MP for visiting New Zealand's first 6-Star Design and As-Built v1.0 Green Star building, 3 Te Kehu Way, and presenting our CEO, Clive Mackenzie, with a formal certificate to acknowledge the achievement. 3 Te Kehu Way is rich in amenities and designed for the needs of modern tenants. It offers extensive bike parking, excellent end-of-trip facilities, and EV charging stations as well as large floorplates, abundant natural lighting, and flexible configurations. We are proud to offer our tenants convenient, attractive, quality, and sustainable spaces to not only meet their needs but exceed their expectations for both function and form.

Very proud to see Sylvia Park sitting at number one in New Zealand Herald's ranking of Auckland shopping malls. Writer Greg Bruce says it's "beautifully designed and decorated and flawlessly maintained" and calls the public art installations from Simon Lewis Ward "the two best examples of public art in an Auckland mall". He also loves the digital touch screens, carparking capacity, and entertainment offering. With LynnMall also at the top of the table at number six on the list, our mixed-use centres have clearly hit the mark! https://lnkd.in/gkAJRBNk #mixeduse #retail #Auckland

This coffee's on us! ☕ Across Sylvia Park, LynnMall, The Base, Centre Place, The Plaza and Northlands, we are kicking off our third annual campaign to promote mental wellbeing and support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. From today, our customers can claim one of the thousands of vouchers available for one free hot drink on us at our centres’ participating retailers. The campaign draws from one of the Mental Health Foundation’s five ways to wellbeing: take notice. Taking notice is about taking time away from everyday routines to remember the simple things that give you joy. It’s our pleasure to give our customers a moment of indulgence without opening their wallets. Over 15,000 coffee vouchers are available across the six centres. In addition to shouting a round for our customers, we will donate 50¢ to the Mental Health Foundation for every voucher redeemed. This week, we are celebrating a wonderful 25 years with our Centre Manager at Centre Place, Maureen Pearce. Maureen started her career journey with Kiwi Property in 1999 at the customer service desk at North City before moving into a Centre Admin role, assisting the Facilities Manager. While juggling both work and a busy home life, Maureen undertook her property degree at Massey and later moved into an Assistant Centre Manager role. Maureen moved to Hamilton over ten years ago, where she took on the role of Assistant Centre Manager at Centre Place before stepping into the Centre Manager role. Congratulations, Maureen, on reaching this fantastic milestone. We hope to share many more years of your expertise and can-do attitude at Kiwi Property.

When art reflects the local community, it fosters social engagement and encourages visitors to explore deeper. Continuing our 'spaces between buildings' initiative, we're dedicated to using art to infuse beauty, hospitality, and a sense of belonging into our properties. At The Plaza in Palmerston North, we partnered with local artist Chris Heaphy to elevate the centre's aesthetic appeal. A prominent wall at the entrance now features a vibrant mural that welcomes visitors with vivid illustrations of the Manawatu region's past and present. The design of 3 Te Kehu Way draws inspiration from the region’s ecological history. The building’s exterior patterns represent the native pūriri tree. Inside the lobby, an intricate flax weaving by local artist Tim Christie takes centre stage. This artwork, with its woven texture illuminated from behind, reveals three faces symbolising the diversity of the local community. At the Vero Centre, an impressive collection of contemporary artworks by leading New Zealand painters and sculptors is showcased in pride of place in the lobby, creating a welcoming environment for our tenants and visitors alike.

A new milestone for our mixed-use asset Sylvia Park: this month, Sylvia Park Shopping Centre’s rolling annual pedestrian count recorded 16 million customer visits! Since opening in 2007, Sylvia Park has grown to become New Zealand’s largest and favourite shopping centre*. Sylvia Park is a magnet for customers from across Auckland and beyond, drawn to its more than 230 leading local and international retailers, excellent dining and entertainment options, over 4,000 free carparks and excellent public transport access. We are continually improving our retailer mix, attracting international heavy-hitters such as Zara, Culture Kings, MECCA, JD Sports, and IKEA. At the core of our property portfolio are our retail-led mixed-use assets, which are designed to give customers options to live, work, shop, and play all within one convenient location. Within the wider Sylvia Park Precinct, we've also added two office towers and, with the opening of Resido, three residential apartment buildings. Sylvia Park exemplifies our vision of "creating connected communities," with the consistent year-over-year increase in pedestrian traffic demonstrating that our strategy resonates well with customers and tenants alike. #retail #customers *"The Heart of Kiwi Property 2022" NielsenIQ
