It was wonderful to be part of the opening of the Latin America Spain Film Festival (LASFF - https://www.lasffnz.co.nz/) in Wellington! We were treated to a beautiful Spanish film 'Lullaby', followed by an incredible array of culinary treats and drinks from the embassies supporting the festival. It was fantastic to see all the Ambassadors there, and the Mayor of Wellington Tory Whanau gave a great opening speech. The Latin America New Zealand Business Council is thrilled to be one of the sponsors together with Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence of this amazing event. If you're in #Blenheim, #Christchurch, #Napier, #NewPlymouth, or #PalmerstonNorth, there's still time to support and enjoy this cultural celebration! #LASFF #FilmFestival #LatinAmerica #Spain #CulturalExchange

Had a highly productive meeting with the Ambassador of Chile to New Zealand, Her Excellency Manahi Anahiro Pakarati Novoa and her team in Wellington. It was fantastic to discuss priorities for 2025 and explore how we can continue to strengthen the strong ties between our two countries. New Zealand and Chile have long been good friends, with several key agreements in place, such as the CPTPP and DEPA which all provide a solid foundation for enhanced trade and cooperation. We’re excited to develop events in 2025 that will focus on these agreements and create more opportunities for businesses and stakeholders to engage. Looking forward to the great work ahead. #chile #newzealand #cooperation #trade #business

Thank you to the New Zealand China Council, in particular Alistair Crozier and Stephen Jacobi for organizing the 'Southern Link Revisited' event and for inviting me to speak on behalf of the Latin America New Zealand Business Council. It was a fantastic full-day event with insightful presentations from a range of great speakers and key stakeholders who are critical to the realization of the Southern Link concept. The LANZBC has been a strong advocate for this initiative since its inception, recognizing the immense potential it holds for connecting New Zealand, Asia, and Latin America. I was in great company on my panel with Dene Green and Pier Smulders, and we had some excellent discussions. There were also outstanding presentations from the Ambassador of Peru to NZ and the Honorary Consul to Chile Felipe Rojas to name a few, alongside other insightful panels. If you're unfamiliar with the Southern Link concept, I highly recommend checking out the full report commissioned by the New Zealand China Council and authored by NZ Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) here: https://lnkd.in/ga_a_xHp." What an incredible event! We are truly grateful to everyone who contributed to making the 60 Years of Brazil-New Zealand Bilateral Relations event a success. We were honored to have Minister Todd McClay, who not only highlighted the importance of celebrating such events but also shared exciting news about leading a trade delegation to Brazil. The Minister is looking forward to engaging in discussions around trade and further strengthening the economic ties between our two nations. Thanks to Mayor Wayne Brown, whose commitment to enhancing air connectivity between our two nations is a game-changer for our future collaboration. Our insightful panelists: Graham Grant, CEO Seequent, Hamish Wiig, GM LatAm Gallagher Animal Management and Ricardo Bovo, MD Tait Communications South America, truly inspired us, sharing their remarkable journeys and practical strategies for breaking into the Brazil market – a testament to the potential of our growing economic partnership. Grateful to Philipp Grunert Collins, LatAm Manager at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, for joining us and outlining the invaluable support NZTE provides to Kiwi exporters. All panelists underscored the importance of connecting with NZTE as the first step when entering new markets, including Brazil. The turnout exceeded expectations, and the networking opportunities were absolutely fantastic. It was amazing to see so many connections being formed that will undoubtedly propel future cooperation between our nations. We were deeply thankful to have virtual contributions from NZ Ambassador to Brazil Richard Prendergast, Brazilian Ambassador to NZ Marcos Arbizu de Souza Campos and Bruna de Natale BDM Brazil Education New Zealand | Manapou ki te Ao, whose insights added immense value to the occasion. A special mention as well to Peruvian Ambassador to NZ José E. Bustinza for attending, along with all our distinguished guests, and everyone involved in making this event a resounding success! A huge thank you to our sponsors, Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence, in particular Matthew O'Meagher, Craig Nicholson and Nikki Lima for being such champions of our events and Auckland University of Technology, special mention to Melanie Barr and Matt (Matevž) Raskovic for their generous support, without which this event wouldn’t have been possible. Together, we look forward to many more years of collaboration between Brazil and New Zealand. #BrazilNewZealandRelations #BilateralTies #InternationalCollaboration #BusinessGrowth #Networking #60YearsStrong New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI)Auckland Business Chamber
