This event, we’re back at The Kollective and bringing you Vince Ford to the stage who’ll be talking to us about Connection and Culture. Powerful connections inspire - they put a spark in our eye, a spring in our step or a fire in our belly! Vince will entertain us with the best stories you’ll hear this year. He’ll also dig briefly into the neuroscience of connection, examine the ways we connect and reveal the secret to sustaining and maintaining lasting bonds of trust! Look forward to seeing you there!

Wiremu Matthews was our guest at LinkedIn Local in July. He’d love our help with some feedback on a programme that he and the team Kānuka Wellbeing and Leadership Ltd are planning. Send him a message if you can help. Thanks 🙏
We help you as the leader to rejuvenate your energy and have more conversations you've been avoiding
Kia ora team, I need your help 🙏🏽 I'm looking for 7 people leaders. We've been working on an online programme designed for people leaders who either avoid 'difficult' conversations or push through them with anxiety and would love the whole process to be easier and more connecting and positive rather than ‘difficult’. We’ve worked with HUNDREDS of leaders and have seen that this ONE CHALLENGE is the cause of so many other issues - in the workplace and at home. We want to help you solve it once and for all and feel confident having these conversations (yes, it's possible!). This is where we need your help - we wanna make sure that what we’re planning would ACTUALLY be a game-changer for people like you. If you’re a PEOPLE LEADER and want to give us feedback on this programme, DM me or comment “𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗡” below and I’ll send over the outline. There’s NOTHING for sale. No pitch. No link to buy anything. Would just really appreciate your thoughts. (And if we do launch it, the people who give us feedback will be the 1st to get the info) Ngā mihi Wiremu

We sure did some damage to the lack of connection many of us experience in a professional setting at our latest event held at Basestation Coworking on Friday. If you have a close friend at work, you're 7x more likely to be engage - yet less than 30% of people can say this is true - how sad is that stat coming out of Gallup? But you'd never have guessed that to be true if you'd been in the room with us on Friday.... The conversations were flying, and we were ably hosted through a brilliant interactive approach to going Below the Surface with our professional connection thanks to our guest speaker and all round epic human Carly Shorter. We sure had conversations that mattered! And the feedback afterwards has been mind blowing. A massive thanks to our event photographer and sponsor Caleb Walsh from Cab Creative , to Julian Thompson who was brave enough to sponsor his first event he attended - thanks you so much! And a huge thanks to everyone who came along, was open for a really different approach for this session, and to our amazing community of fans who've gathered around LinkedIn Local Tauranga to make it what it is! Such a pleasure to host you! Big hugs from Leeann Bassett and Alana Swain #tauranga #networking #connection

Ready for better networking conversations? Most of us really love hanging out here on LinkedIn right? Unlike some of those other social platforms, this is a space where it’s easy to find and engage in honest, constructive and helpful conversations. What if you got the chance to experience that in real life? This Friday Leeann Bassett and Alana Swain are really delighted to be pulling together yet another awesome LinkedIn Local here in Tauranga CBD and this time, we’ve thrilled to bring Carly Shorter’s skills in conversations which go deeper than surface level. You know, those lean in conversations where you learn something, are inspired, and feel connected in a way swapping notes on the weather or lamenting parking just wont create. If you’ve never been to one of our events before, this is the nudge you’ve been looking for! One of the reasons we’ve designed our LinkedIn local events to be run the way they are, is to make it less scary for those of us who are a bit nervous about standard networking. So we give you a warm welcome on arrival at Basestation Coworking, and aim to connect you with someone interesting who works in a similar or complementary industry to you if you don’t know anyone, give you a hot cuppa to hold so you have something to do with your hands (which is not to hide behind your phone!) , and then also give you the chance to listen to a guest speaker so you don’t have to be “on” for the whole time. It’s a recipe which works really well, and if you’ve been sat there thinking “oh, I wish I could, but…” then maybe this month is the month to join us! Tickets are below - and welcome hugs are entirely optional! #tauranganetworking #hugs #betterconversations

Many of you enjoyed learning from Wiremu Matthews from Kānuka Wellbeing and Leadership at our LinkedIn Local event in July. So we thought you might be interested in Kānuka's Cultural Awareness Programme that begins on Wednesday 18th September 10am – 12pm and runs every week, for 6 weeks – with the final workshop on 23rd October. It’s a great way to learn more about te ao Māori, to develop confidence in delivering your pepeha, and to learn some of the local kōrero here in Tauranga Moana. Some of the programme objectives are to: - Begin insight into te ao Māori – alignment of values - Learn the process for relationship engagement when a guest at marae - Learn how to apply relationship principles to work/business settings - Improve pronunciation using pepeha, karakia and local place names - Develop, learn and share your pepeha confidently in various settings - Experience marae pōhiri process and share pepeha on the marae - Develop a personal plan for continuing journey in te ao Māori For more information, click the link below: https://lnkd.in/gTtgp8-4 You can also connect with Wiremu Matthews or Marie Roberts from Kānuka wellbeing and leadership and ask them any questions.

How great is connection!? Apparently, we’re living in a loneliness epidemic, but you wouldn’t imagine it to look at these pics would you? We’re really rapt when we hear from our wonderful LinkedIn Local whanau that they look forward to these events, when they walk away with someone new to meet at a future date and have new folk they can support online on this fantastic platform. Networking, when it looks like this, feels like this and impacts like this, is something we believe we all benefit from. Which is why for both of us (Leeann and Alana) we look forward to bringing these events to life so much. In fact, it always feels like we’re putting on a huge morning tea shout for a room full of friends! So if you’ve been looking for a different feeling networking space, one where you as the human are valued before anything else, this is your space. As one of our new guests commented, “it was so great, we spent about 30 seconds sharing what we did for work and then just talked about what was going on for us in life - so refreshing!” Thanks again to our epic sponsors Wiremu Matthews, Rachael Rotherham and The Kollective, and looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces at our September event. “Thank you for making me feel so welcome at my very first networking event in Tauranga” Was just one of the very warm comments as we wrapped things up on yet another fantastic morning of connection, insight, and meaningful korero. We’re very grateful to all our sponsors who help bring these events to life and a particular shout out to Wiremu Matthews for a well timed call for us all to be better kaitiaki of ourselves, in order to better manaaki those we’re around. We can’t argue with the maths behind 15:3:1 and there were a bunch of really great ideas flowing around the room about ways we’ll be bringing this to life. Often those of us leading others, or busy with full lives and family, work, or business commitments put care of ourselves too far down the priority list. Wiremu Matthews’ invitation to consider it as an investment so we can then show up better for those around us was timely and we spotted many notes being taken and stories being swapped to help with ongoing accountability. Thanks to all of you who came, gave us the gift of your presence and we hope you left feeling more connected. It’s truly a privilege to bring these events to life, and we look forward to our next one which will be held on September 20th. Massive thank you to Anita Burgess for these fantastic photos capturing the spirit of the event and if you’re needing event photos anytime soon, make sure to book her in! Thanks also to the lovely Rachael Rotherham from Rotherham Family Law for her sponsorship and relatability sharing what she loves about the mahi she does, and to our wonderful hosts at The Kollective!
