The 3rd Annual Momentum Poker tournament was held last week in association with Hnry for the coveted title and $5,000 donation to the winners charity of choice. Much thanks to Blair Cashin for helping organize and James Fuller who made the final table out of 40+ players. Finishing in 3rd was Mark Charlton who was an early favourite. After 4+ hours of play John van Woerkom and John Battles agreed to split the pot and donate $2,500 to both Compassion Soup Kitchen & Camp Quality New Zealand. Times have been tougher recently so a huge thank you to all those who came and supported our evening to raise money for charities who are also finding it tough to support their communities. Looking forward to the next one already and hopefully we can get a few more female players along to support Sophia van Zijl! #GreaterTogether #HelpingOurCommunity #PokerNight #CharityPoker

In today’s fast-paced world, establishing clear boundaries between work and personal life is more critical than ever. The recent 'right to disconnect' law in Australia highlights how important it is to protect our time outside of work, ensuring we maintain balance and well-being. See below the article: https://lnkd.in/gTstCcWS Gillian Brookes, author of Flexperts, talk about the hybrid-working partnerships at home: "We also know that there are two types of people when it comes to managing boundaries between work and home. At one end of a spectrum there are integrators and at the other there are segmenters/segregators. If you’re an integrator, you’ll be coping much better with the blurring of boundaries between work and home, as long as the way you’re managing it is within your control. For those who have a preference for segmentation, it’s much harder." We're curious—how do you manage work outside of traditional hours? Do you think similar changes could benefit workplaces in New Zealand? Our CEO, Nick Roberts, says: "Personally, for me I like working in the evening after the family have gone to bed. I feel mentally fresh and there are less distractions. This in turn allows me to pick up kids some days and also make other personal arrangements. However, I'm lucky and not all of my work is time bound or needs interactions with others which allows for it to be flexible."

Momentums’ CEO Nick Roberts is currently undertaking a Mini-MBA through Spark New Zealand in collaboration with Section, focusing on AI. In a recent session, an example showcasing the application of LLM involved an experiment where party guests provided information beforehand, allowing the creation of a virtual agent. These agents interacted in a virtual environment, with the result being that guests received an individualised report on their top five potential connections. The scenario prompted conversations at Momentum Consulting Group about leveraging AI in recruitment processes, balancing efficiency gains with personal connections, and addressing ethical concerns about privacy and human interactions. It emphasised the importance of maintaining the human touch in an increasingly AI driven world. This experiment is a reminder of the rapidly evolving landscape of AI and its’ potential to transform the recruitment industry. Insights are no doubt useful, but isn’t the fun in making those connections and the spontaneity of where a conversation can go? No doubt the technology is transformational, but are we focusing the technology on the right topics? Let us know what you think! #GreaterTogether #Momentum #Recruitment #AI
