🙌 🛫 Our NZ-made multi-role aircraft delivers again 🛫 🙌 🇦🇺 🇳🇿 🇵🇬 We are incredibly proud to see a New Zealand-made aircraft in action as one of the world's youngest air forces strengthens its defence ties participating in northern Australia this week at the 30-nation Pitch Black exercise. This week, pilots from Papua New Guinea have had the unique opportunity to line up for take-off alongside U.S. F-22 Raptor's and Australian F-35 Lightning II's in northern Australia. Six PNG Air Force pilots are flying three New Zealand-made Pac750XL turboprop aircraft. The Pac750XL are renowned for their exceptional ability to take off and land in very short spaces (200m), making them ideal for transporting supplies to border areas in Papua New Guinea's challenging mountain terrain. Flying is essential in PNG. With 80% of the population living in rural areas, air travel is often the only viable means of access. Our New Zealand-made aircraft have proven their worth, particularly during the Enga landslide disaster in May, where they could land closer to the disaster site to deliver aid more efficiently than larger Royal Australian Air Force aircraft. During Pitch Black, the aircraft have been delivering supplies to remote areas and operating out of RAAF Tindal Base, home to Australia's F-35 fighter jets. It serves as a multi-role aircraft, flying also as a skydiving machine (very popular with jump zones around the world). 🚀 NZAero expands horizon in Thailand 🚀 We were delighted to visit Thai Aviation Industries Co., Ltd. (TAI) on July 10, 2024, to strengthen our cooperation! Our CEO, Stephen Burrows, along with our Chief Engineer and Test Pilot Ray Long and our diplomatic team from the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok, were warmly welcomed by Air Commodore Withichai Sangthopho, Assistant Managing Director of TAI. This visit is a significant step following our recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TAI on April 17, 2024. The MoU, witnessed by the Prime Ministers of both New Zealand and Thailand at the Government House, focuses on logistics, maintenance, and maintenance support. We are excited about collaborating with the Thailand Government and the opportunities it brings to build the NZ Aerospace industry. Our CEO, Stephen Burrows, visited the One City Centre Building in Bangkok, the tallest office skyscraper in Thailand, at 276 meters tall. The tour was hosted by Beca, who provided a brief explanation about the engineering services for this structure. It was also an opportunity to hear from Beca about how its innovation in building industry is shaping Bangkok’s skyline.
