    Executive General Manager - NZI

Preparing for the future and staying ahead of the latest trends is critical for any business leader. How regularly you review your business strategy implementation depends on various factors, but I think it’s good practice to do this at least once a quarter. While you might think that’s frequent—and you’d be right – New Zealand businesses are now operating in a market full of rapid change, and agility is the name of the game. But how can you identify the genuine shifts in trends as opposed to the latest fads? Here are the four top trends that I believe will impact businesses in the next 5-10 years – trends that every business leader should be preparing for today.

NZI is proud to support the Kiwi Art Trail 2024/25.  This event not only showcases creativity through 20 kiwi sculptures but also supports a cause close to our hearts – protecting the future of our native bird. Each sculpture has been transformed into a unique piece of art by New Zealand artists. Currently nesting in Tauranga, the whole flock will be winging its way to Napier and Whangārei before finally landing in Auckland.  Come along and spot the NZI sponsored kiwi, Buzzy Kiwi, created by artist collaboration Weston Frizzell.  Partnering with the Kiwi Art Trail is Gallagher Insurance New Zealand and Save the Kiwi. After the tour, these works of art will be auctioned, with all proceeds going towards kiwi conservation.  www.kiwiarttrail.nz #kiwiarttrail #savethekiwi #NZI

We’ve just released the sixth issue of our Wild Weather Tracker which analyses insurance claims data to help you prepare and protect yourself from wild weather.   During autumn and winter, significant storms made up 78% of all natural hazard event claims we received. While some natural hazard events pertain to one region, the majority of the natural hazard events, such as strong winds, had a widespread impact on the country.   Download our tracker at https://lnkd.in/gVDKgKP3 to read more interesting insights and ways you can prepare for and protect yourself from wild weather.

NZI is a relationship business and working closely with our broker partners to provide expert advice to support our customers is core to what we do. In the past few months our team has attended a number of broker conferences, each unique but all focused on insurance education, delivering value to customers and connecting with partners to drive new thinking. NZI joined important discussions and shared our insights on climate change, assurance offerings and the future of claims. This year we created the NZI General Store, showcasing customer products and enabling great conversations with broker partners, all while supporting New Zealand business. Thanks to all our important partners across the motu for the mahi and connection.
