Building Materials
Keeping New Zealand homes warmer, drier and healthier since 1961.
About us
Pink® Batts® insulation is a Kiwi company with a passion for Aotearoa. After all, we live here too. The first Pink® Batts® insulation began rolling out the factory door of our Penrose, Auckland-based facility in 1961 and we have been manufacturing on the same site since then. It has been over 60 years and it gives us extreme pleasure to know that we have helped warm a multitude of New Zealand homes and hearts.

The Master Builders House of the Year awards are back again for another year, and we are honoured to be presenting our Pink® Batts® Craftmanship Award. At Comfortech®, we recognise the importance of building a home to a high-quality standard so that it performs over its lifetime, including the type of insulation installed and the way it is installed. Which is why we choose to put our brand to the Craftmaship Award. This prestigious event celebrates the very best New Zealand homes, as well as the workmanship behind them, including the outstanding $4m-plus new build at Waihi Beach, which won the first of this year’s regional Master Builders awards. You may remember ultra-marathon runner, Nick Ashill, who ran for 48-hours non-stop last September to raise awareness and donations for respiratory illness. Well, this year, Nick is busy training for his next and final challenge – a 4,000km run from Perth to Sydney. Comfortech® are proud to support and sponsor Nick as he embarks on this incredible journey to support the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation New Zealand, with a goal to raise $50,000. This 4,000km journey will take place this April and around 70 days to complete. This won’t be Nick’s longest run, but it will certainly be one of his toughest, with almost 300km without passing through a town. Nick will be joined by long-term friends and runners, Mehmet and Paul, as well as Jamie Thomson, Head of IT for Comfortech®, Laminex and Winstone Wallboards. Jamie will run with Nick from Norseman to Ceduna, approximately 1,200km across the Nullarbor Plain – a flat, almost treeless part of Southern Australia. Hear more from Nick and Jamie as they share more about the road ahead, or to make a donation visit: nickrunsaustralia.org.nz @asthmaandrespiratoryfoundation @nick.runsaustralia

In celebration of International Women’s Day this Friday, we wanted to showcase some of the inspirational women here at Comfortech®. We sat down with PinkFit® Hawke’s Bay Franchise Owner, Sarah Robertson to learn more about her story and how she’s breaking the bias in a predominately male industry with a team of six female insulation installers.
