  • Did you know only 15.5% of the construction workforce is women? That also means there are fewer female role models to inspire the next generation of talented women to join this dynamic industry. At Fletcher Building, we are proud to be changing that. Over 22% of our operational roles are now undertaken by women, and we’re committed to increasing that number. We believe that more women in the industry will help open doors for the next generation by showing them the possibilities a career in building, construction or manufacturing could give them. We are incredibly proud of the amazing wāhine in our business who are leading the way and showing others that they can achieve anything. Here is a shout-out to just a few of them! To our friends across the industry Beca, Downer BCITO, Fulton Hogan - We’d love to celebrate your incredible women too so please share! It’s time for us all to #AccelerateAction #Itshardtobewhatyoucantsee #IWD #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInConstruction #FletcherBuilding #BetterTogether

  • We are proud to have officially launched Fletcher Building Australia’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the next important step in our reconciliation journey that builds on the progress of our first Reflect RAP launched in 2023. Since 2023, we have successfully achieved all the commitments we set out to accomplish—including building connections with Traditional Owners, partnering with First Nations businesses, and celebrating culturally significant events like NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week. Gareth O’Reilly, Chief Executive of Fletcher Building Australia, says, "I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made through our Reflect RAP. These achievements have strengthened our relationships with First Nations communities and deepened our understanding of their rich histories and cultures. With the launch of our Innovate RAP, we’re committed to going further—promoting cultural awareness, creating real opportunities, and building a future founded on respect, collaboration, and shared growth." Our Better Together value has guided us on this journey, and together, we’re working towards a future that honors respect, understanding, and collaboration. A special thanks to YarnnUp for their guidance and to First Nations artist Elaine Chambers-Hegarty for creating the artwork that represents our journey. This artwork, proudly displayed across our sites, symbolises our shared commitment to reconciliation. #Reconciliation #RAP #FletcherBuilding #Equality

  • Hard hats, high-vis, and a whole lot of pride! 🌈✨ We hit Auckland in full force for the 2025 Rainbow Parade earlier this month, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the power of being unapologetically yourself. With around 40 of our people dancing down Ponsonby Road—and our Rainbow Mixer bringing up the rear—we showed up loud, proud, and ready to celebrate! Our CEO Andrew Reding and Chief Safety + Sustainability Officer Wendi Bains were right in the heart of the action—supporting, fostering inclusivity, and most importantly, having a whole lot of fun. Check out what they had to say in this video! A huge thank you to everyone who joined, danced, and represented Fletcher Building with pride. The energy was electric, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! ⚡🏳️🌈 #RainbowParade #Pride #Inclusion #Diversity #FletcherBuilding #RainbowMixer #BetterTogether

  • Open-plan living and smart gadgets weren’t even on the radar when Winstone Ltd set out to define New Zealand’s ‘ideal home’ in 1958 in this #FletcherFlashbackFriday Over 12 days in June 1958, 15,000 visitors in Palmerston North flocked to see the home, marveling at both the craftsmanship and the cutting-edge mod-cons—a built-in TV aerial, deep freeze-refrigerator, automatic stove, and washing machine! This wasn’t just any show home—it was a showcase of top-tier New Zealand-made materials and services, packed with the 'latest' must-haves of the time to highlight the possibilities of modern living. Nearly 70 years later, the idea of a perfect home has changed, but Winstone’s ‘ideal house’ is a fun reminder that while styles evolve, the search for the dream home never really ends. • While it can be tempting to ‘ease’ into things at the start of the year, it is integral we hit the ground running with our safety mindset fully engaged so none of our people become one of the 'lucky ones'. In this powerful story, hear from Brian Perry Civil's Mason Hohepa, in the Bay of Plenty, who shares his close call with a serious injury, and the valuable lessons he and his team learned about staying committed to safety-on-site. Everyday, we live our values to care for each other, so we can all call go home safely and through our dedicated safety culture programme Protect, we have built a strong collective belief that all injuries are preventable. #Protect #SafetyOnSite #TeamFB #FletcherBuilding #BrianPerryCivil

The grindstone has been spinning for a few weeks now, as most of us are well and truly back to work for 2025. In this #fletcherflashbackfriday we go back to 1954, when Fletcher Holdings started the tradition of kicking off the year with the annual "Back to the Grindstone" event, complete with an actual grindstone —a playful nod to the saying about rolling up your sleeves and getting back to work, refocusing and diving into the year ahead. Pictured here - James (JC) Fletcher at the 1968 event, alongside this memorable piece of company history. Returning to work looks different for everyone—what’s your secret to starting the year strong? Let us know below! Image courtesy of the Fletcher Trust Archives - https://lnkd.in/gQffcNw
