And then there were THREE! Three New Zealand organisations - Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, Auckland Airport and RotoruaNZ - coming together to create an inspiring marketing campaign to bring more of our neighbours from Australia to visit Auckland and Rotorua. Of course, this benefits more than these two regions as visitors travel between locations, and possibly further throughout the North Island. With support from tourism activity operators and accommodation providers, we can certainly expect to see a lot more Aussies around. Two cities, two hours apart, too easy! Who are YOU going to invite to come for a visit? #2Easy #Travel #EnticingAussies #AucklandToRotorua #RotoruaHospitality #RotoruaFun

👏On this World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to highlight the construction of Health New Zealand - Lakes's new mental health inpatient unit on Rangiuru Street. This modern facility will focus on the healing and wellbeing of whaiora (service users), incorporating strong kaupapa Māori design elements and flexible care options. Guided by Te Ara Tauwhirotanga, our community's input has been vital in shaping this space. Scheduled for completion in late 2026, local contractor McMillan & Lockwood is also offering employment opportunities for young people on-site to help them launch their careers. Recently, we also inaugurated Rotorua Hospital’s upgraded Children’s Unit, which plays a critical role in supporting the wellbeing of our community. With cutting-edge improvements and a focus on creating safe, comfortable spaces for patients and their families, this redevelopment marks a significant step forward for healthcare in Rotorua. Together, we’re building a healthier, more resilient future for Rotorua’s residents and visitors. #CommunityGrowth #RotoruaHospital #WorldMentalHealthDay #HealthcareInnovation

🚀 We're fizzing that Rotorua has ranked third in New Zealand's top trending destinations for Kiwis during the school holidays, according to a Booking.com press release. Auckland and Christchurch took the top and second spots. 🎉 This is the second time in just 10 months that our beautiful city has been recognised as a tourism hot spot – we also made it to the top 10 in November 2023. Our team at RotoruaNZ monitors the bookings for short-term rental accommodation, and we’re thrilled to see that the occupancy rate for this past weekend was nearly full, and the rest of the school holidays are sitting around 50%. Looking ahead, Labour Day weekend is already shaping up even stronger at nearly 80%. The high interest in Rotorua shows how much our city has to offer, from stunning natural landscapes to unique cultural experiences, and everything in between. We’re looking forward to welcoming more manuhiri to enjoy all that Rotorua has to offer!
