Today’s report from the Commerce Commission gives consumers confidence that Auckland Airport’s infrastructure programme is not only justified, but that it is reasonable and fit for purpose. Auckland Airport is New Zealand’s gateway, and we take that role really seriously. We need to build the right infrastructure at the right time to ensure the airport is resilient and can support future capacity. Stable regulatory settings are essential for this. The Commission said: “Overall, we consider that Auckland Airport followed appropriate processes and applied rigour in costing the investment plan… the Airport showed that independent reviews on either the whole capital plan, or specific aspects of the plan, was sought on twelve occasions … Auckland Airport considered a wide range of options, including the alternative design provided by Air NZ, and had adequate regard to service quality.” We have also responded quickly to the Commission, discounting airline charges to ensure our targeted return is in line with the Commission’s range. We’re getting on with the build. More information here: https://lnkd.in/graW8ekQ

AKL is gearing up for one of the biggest airfield upgrade projects in 20 years, ensuring long-term resilience and safety for New Zealand’s busiest runway. With around 450 aircraft movements daily, maintaining a safe and reliable airfield is our top priority. →Existing taxiway, Taxiway Alpha, transformed into a contingent runway during the upgrades →The new domestic jet terminal, completed 2029, is a critical unlock for this work →$40 million invested to date in preparation While the main runway upgrades are planned for around 2030, essential groundwork is already underway, expanding and upgrading taxiways, installing new lighting and collaborating with key aviation partners to ensure seamless operations. Our approach ensures continued efficiency, safety and minimal impact to travellers. As we count down to these upgrades we’re focused on future-proofing Auckland’s aviation infrastructure. Stay tuned for more updates as we pave the way forward. Malaysia Airlines’ Airbus A330-900neo has officially touched down at Auckland Airport! With 28 spacious Business Class suites featuring privacy doors and 269 Economy seats, this aircraft is designed to offer a smoother, more comfortable, and more efficient journey. Malaysia Airlines will now operate the A330-900neo on four of its eight weekly flights, replacing the A330-200/300. At Auckland Airport, International Women’s Day isn’t just about celebration, it’s about action. On Monday, we brought together the wāhine (and some of our male allies) of AKL for an event focused on career growth, networking, and mentorship. Research shows that strong professional networks are key to career success, yet women often face barriers in building them. That’s why we provided speed mentoring and networking opportunities alongside insights from inspiring guest speakers. “The event left me feeling empowered and reminded me of how supportive our airport community is. I think it’s important to create a space outside of our day-to-day roles to connect with other incredible women, share experiences and think about where we might want to take our careers.” - Kristina Jeffery, Commercial Performance Business Partner "This event was an opportunity to reflect on our careers and share experiences with other women in the organisation. It was inspiring to discover common challenges and recognise the strength in supporting one another”. - Colinda Rowe, Waste Minimisation Manager. Our commitment to gender equity goes beyond IWD, including: → Wāhine Toa Career Mentorship Programme – accelerating female talent into leadership at AKL → Parental leave enhancements – 18 weeks full pay for primary carers, 6 weeks for partners → Menopause support – a new toolkit and awareness initiatives → Period equity – free products in all staff bathrooms in partnership with Dignity NZ Period Care. While we’re proud of our 50% female board and executive representation, we’re pushing further to ensure 40:40:20 gender balance across all leadership tiers. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate, learn, and support each other. #IWD2025 #WāhineToa #Leadership #GenderEquity #WeAreAucklandAirport

We work hard to reunite lost property with their owners, but for the unclaimed goods, we work with ME Family Services (Mangere East Family Services Centre Inc) to give them a second lease of life. Last year there was over 9,000kgs of leftover airport lost property they gave away, including prams, sports gear and blankets. “We don't want to see these items ending up in landfill or gathering dust at the terminal, it’s so much better they are re-homed for good,” said our Chief Operations Officer Chloe Surridge. “As a business we are working towards a target of reducing waste to landfill by 20% by 2030 compared to 2019. We’re currently tracking to 15% below 2019.” The items from AKL are mainly used to stock ME Family Services’ ‘Resource Room’ onsite in Māngere, which acts like a store but all goods are free for those in need. CEO of MEFS Carole Tana-Tepania said: “It’s all about giving back and it’s so fulfilling. We see families walking away with bags full of items.” If you lose something at Auckland Airport, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll work hard to track it down and get it back to you. Phone: 0800 AIRPORT (0800 247 7678) option 4 or email: lostproperty@aucklandairport.co.nz Lost property items are held for between one to three months (depending on the item), before they are re-homed. If items are left behind on the aircraft or luggage is mishandled, please contact your airline. Chloe Surridge | Carole Tana-Tepania (Ngāti Hine) | Colinda Rowe
