Congratulations WellingtonNZ and Motion Capital on hosting the first-ever Climate Tech Summit Aotearoa last week! 🌿 ⚡ 🐜 Climate tech - defined as any tech-based solution to environmental problems - looks to be one of the important components of any successful engagement with the multiple environment-related challenges we face. Three new startups from Creative HQ’s climate accelerator won a $50,000 investment each from Motion Capital: GOOD GRUB AGRITECH, which produces low-cost insect protein for animal feed; Mara Bio, which makes a fungi-based protein; and Aotea Energy, which is developing smart home batteries. Props to Lachlan Nixon's Motion Capital and Whakatupu Aotearoa Foundation for establishing a pre-seed fund to support each of the nine ventures in Creative HQ’s climate accelerator. We provide companies, founders and investors a simple, highly strategic way to make a positive impact in Aotearoa, through the donation of shares in unlisted companies. Combining contributions from multiple businesses, we amplify the positive impacts of giving. We hold all donated shares in a charitable portfolio. Funds from dividends or company sales support critical environmental and social impact areas in Aotearoa. We have some seed funding and are already operational. We're seeking donations of equity, and also donations of cash if you want to support Share Collective itself. Please spread the word, and give us your feedback! We'd love to see donating a portion of equity become the norm for business in Aotearoa New Zealand.
