About us

The Energy Collective is a global retail energy and technology business. We exist to create and scale digital brands which leverage the power of our proprietary technology platform to disrupt retail markets by outperforming our competitors on both cost and service and allowing all our customers to contribute to the energy transition. Our technology uses advanced data analytics to deliver innovative propositions which reward customers for shifting usage to cheaper, greener times of the day. Starting in New Zealand in 2015, we serve residential customers across Australasia with electricity, broadband and gas, delivering an award-winning customer experience and product innovation along the way. Our next phase of growth will see us scale with a multi-product offering. As the energy transition gains pace, our technology will seamlessly integrate with distributed energy assets and the internet of things to deliver propositions that optimise energy use at the home with minimal impact on our customers’ lifestyles and maximum impact on their contribution to net zero.

Exploring ways to help New Zealand better navigate the energy transition

As the old saying goes, don't just take our word for it ..... For a long time Electric Kiwi and the other last remaining independent electricity retailers in New Zealand have been banging on about the need for better competition in the NZ Wholesale Electricity market. So, it was encouraging to see the OECD expressing the same view in their latest look at New Zealand's economy. “the question of effectiveness of competition in the wholesale market warrants further investigation” As we've seen in other sectors in New Zealand, ineffective competition always ends up hitting consumers in the back pocket, at a time when they are feeling the pain more than ever. We encourage the Electricity Authority, MBIE and the Commerce Commission to give this issue the focus it really needs. More effective competition will help drive more innovation and will minimise the cost of the necessary energy transition NZ needs to make. But don't just listen to me .... read what the OECD have to say about it .... https://lnkd.in/gn2Cjf9J Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko Commerce Commission #energytransition #marketpower #energyconsumers
