That’s a wrap on our first week working with Trimble Ventures and the 0-60 US Accelerator Program. 2 am starts and then a working day was challenging but also rewarding. Particularly our one-on-one with Andrew Corney Jacques Harvent, where they dissected our solution, business, and market strategies. The insights provided were next-level and have given us a lot to think about. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Trimble Ventures, Trimble Inc. Day 1 - Trimble Ventures 0-60 Accelerator. Up at 2am, 28F (-2C) outside in Christchurch, New Zealand. (8am, 33C in Colorado, USA) We jumped right into our Trimble Inc., Trimble Ventures, SketchUp induction and loved every moment. One takeaway is that the original founder of SketchUp, in the late 90's couldn't understand why more people weren't using 3D technology to design buildings. That rings true for us. When we started our journey we couldn't understand why cost estimation (and later carbon analysis) wasn't being completed in 3D. The simple answer is that the available solutions were too complicated. We are excited about the opportunities and synergies this accelerator offers us. And we are ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Night Shift! If we look a little tired tomorrow, please cut us some slack. Tonight & tomorrow night we swap to the night shift, 2 am - 11 am. As tough as that sounds, we are super excited. V-Quest is starting its Trimble Ventures US accelerator program 0-60 Challenge. This program culminates in a trip to Las Vegas to present at the Trimble Dimensions conference in November, where we have the opportunity to present in front of 15,000 attendees, mostly potential customers. HUGE!

CalGreen. Did you know that California released its updated Building Standard this week, addressing carbon management. What did it do? - Mandated Carbon Life Cycle Analysis on all buildings over 930m2 (10,000 sqft.), and all residential buildings over 5 units and set - Set specific emission thresholds on concrete, steel, insulation & glass. They also provided three compliance pathways. 1. Re-use at least 45% of the existing structure 2. Use materials that meet specified emission limits 3. Conduct an LCA to evaluate the total embodied carbon project lifecycle V-Quest makes it easy for designers to respond to all 3 pathways. We are on our way to California!
