Job Description
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We are looking for an industry leader to join our dedicated and high-performing Northern Roadmarking management team. You will be responsible for working with the Regional Manager in the leadership, management and effective delivery of roadmarking activities across this Auckland and Northern regions. You will be accountable for operational effectiveness ensuring optimal performance of people and plant.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Contribute to the profitable growth of the Roadmarking business through the development and implementation of agreed plans
- Build and manage relationships with the wider team, contractors and customers to achieve best outcomes for Downer and our customers
- Ensure sound Zero Harm, financial and business practices are applied to all operations consistent with company policy and business systems

Skills
With substantial project and people management experience, and a firm foundation in Roadmarking works, you will have the knowledge and confidence to tackle this role. A collaborative approach to working within and across multi-functional teams from different parts of the business is a key requirement as well as strong leadership skills. We’d also value:
- A proven track record of supervising teams and subcontractors in a range of maintenance/construction activities
- Demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others
- Experience in programme management, planning and resource allocation
- The ability to drive projects, managing relationships and activity to achieve targets
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the civil construction and infrastructure sectors
- A sound understanding of financial management including revenue, expected margin, procurement, receipting, cost control and WIP is desired
- The ability to deal with unexpected events/make decisions and provide direction to crew
- Ideation and solutions to unexpected events - promoting a “continual improvement” philosophy
- Proven track record in developing a culture that supports SQE management, encouraging and rewarding excellence
- Well-developed written, verbal and computer/software skills
- Flexibility to work across shifts is desired
