Meet the Pets of PACE

In honor of National Pet Month, the PACE team is saying thanks with fun images of our pets modeling our signature mission bandana.

Launching and maintaining a satellite is hard. Just ask anyone working on the PACE mission, who had to deal with two delayed launch attempts, a vibration test failure, fears of mission cancellation, and the challenges that come with figuring out how to process, image, and communicate new data with the world.

To help ease those stresses – and help celebrate a successful launch – we turned to our furry companions.

Not all PACE pets are dogs…

Kaia loves to watch birds and yell about bedtimes. She's an energetic cat that is learning her leash skills again. (Kelsey Allen, Senior Scientist in Ocean Ecology Lab’s Field Support Group)

Chase, Everest and Skye are chickens and are members of a ten-person family named after Paw Patrol characters. We have Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Rocky, Everest, Ryder, Tracker, Zuma, Skye and Chickaletta. (Cecile Rousseaux)
