This landmark agreement emphasizes that bipartism must be at the core of the country’s just transition framework as the shift to clean, renewable energy becomes ever more pressing. “This declaration paves the way for businesses to succeed in a green economy while ensuring that workers are supported every step of the way,” said Sergio Ortiz-Luis, Jr., ECOP President. The declaration commits to: 1. Forming a national bipartite just transition committee; 2. Ensuring genuine representation of workers and employers in government just transition structures; 3. Exploring joint activities aligned with the Workers for Just Transition 13-Point Labor Agenda and ECOP’s Sustainability Roadmap; 4. Engaging with relevant government agencies on policies and programs for Just Transition; 5. Promoting awareness, partnerships, and training on greening and just transition. "There's no just transition without workers' rights," emphasized Atty. Sonny Matula, FFW President. This historic pact, signed before 100 employer and worker representatives, was part of the two-day National Conference on Just Transition: Leave No One Behind held from 2-3 October 2024 at B Hotel, Quezon City, supported by the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and the Danish Trade Union Development Agency (Ulandssekretariatet - DTDA). #JustTransitionPH #BipartiteJustTransitionPH #LeaveNoOneBehindPH

Jose Roland Moya, direktør for vores filippinske partner ECOP er også meget tilfreds med aftalen: "To not act on the green and just transition will have disastrous consequences for Filipino companies. I am confident that this historic bipartite agreement between employers and trade unions will help push the government to action. It is our duty in ECOP to transform the agreement into action and hold the hands of our members in this transition."
