  • We’re calling on volunteers to participate in “Level-Up Clean-Up” at The Lighthouse Marina Resort on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Participate in a beach clean-up and waste audit to keep the area clean, help identify sources of pollution, and inform the development of targeted waste reduction strategies. Learn about different recycling and reduction technologies and enterprises, and how you as an individual can get started. We’ll also have a recycling demonstration of different materials such as electricals, clothing, biomass, metal, and glass. This encompasses the entire waste ecosystem and allows participants to gain a better understanding of how to be a steward of change. Lastly, enjoy a healthy meal while you get to know other like-minded volunteers. We hope to connect with you there! Register now at bit.ly/MAD-LevelUpCleanUp

  • More goodnews from the Yangil Reforestation Project! Former chieftain Erese had recently cleared out an area at the base of Mt. Pinmayong in preparation for the agro forest patch. He currently has some cashew seedlings, 2 varieties of gabi/taro, and bananas growing. These agro forest patches not only provide food to the Aeta community in Yangil, but are an important source of their livelihood. We're so grateful to the community who have been so dedicated to this reforestation project. If you'd like to support our efforts, you can help by donating a tree. Scan the QR code or go to https://lnkd.in/gJ23hEmT We're planning a joiner tour to Yangil soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. 👀

  • We recently passed the 1.5 degree Celsius threshold for temperature above pre industrial times, making our climate even crazier. The Philippines is also in the middle of its transition from El Nino, to La Nina, where we expect more storms systems to form closer to PH land than normal (meaning less time to prepare and more rain). As these events continue, Sitio Yangil in San Felipe Zambales continues to plant up in the mountains, ensuring they do their part to reduce carbon, heat and floods. They continue to plant another 25,000 trees this July-Sept, a combination of fruit and forest trees. Thank you for your support and lets pray for the men and women of the community who brave the rivers, rain and steep slopes to help make our environment better.

  • There are more conversations about climate these days, and it's clear that many companies in PH need more information so that they can understand and prepare their businesses for the changes that new weather patterns bring. Our recent Race to Zero workshop with @aisustainability featuring @mitsloan and Climate Interactive's software on carbon was a lot of fun and helped people understand the issues surrounding carbon waste. Stay tuned for our next open public runs! If you are interested please let me know. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gxwqaErz

  • We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who joined our Feast In The Forest at Tingtingin River last July 20! A huge shoutout to the adventurous kids who embraced the day with so much enthusiasm. Seeing them learn and play in nature, especially during our seed potting activity, was a reminder of the bright future we’re nurturing. These little ones will grow into the guardians of our planet, and it's heartwarming to see their love for the environment bloom. 🌱 If you have kids who are eager to explore the outdoors and build a connection with nature, join us on our tours! Let’s inspire the next generation to protect and cherish our planet. 💚🌍

  • One of the most heartwarming portions of @philippines.tpb's recent tour at Yangil was that they got to experience and partake in the communities traditional song and dance. Through music and movement, we are able to connect and see firsthand the tribe's rich and beautiful culture. These songs and dances are passed down from generation to generation, and it's incredibly moving to see the children participating and genuinely having fun, knowing that they will eventually pass these down as well. If you'd like to experience and immerse yourself in Yangils culture while helping us make a difference, send us a DM or email us at info@madtravel.org to let us know you're interested!

  • Getting tipsy with sustainability is SO MUCH FUN! 🍹🧉🍸 Meeting and hanging out with people practicing or interested in sustainability while creating unique cocktails is such a fun way to spend Sunday afternoon. Thank you to our key partner, @astburyph , and their impact champion @marineladrew for hosting this event and giving us all an opportunity to enjoy, drink and save seeds. 🧡 With the marang, rambutan, calamansi and jackfruit seeds, we are excited to add these to our ever growing agro forests in Luzon island. Join us on our next run in September or book a private event at your office! Cheers!
