Geobrugg Academys going abroad 🎒🇵🇭 Last week, I had the privilege of traveling with Claudio Petrini to the Philippines. Together, we successfully held the Hydro Academy, a training on debris flows and their mitigation, for the first time outside of Switzerland. During the Academy, we visited Gabaldon, where the world's largest flexible debris flow barrier is now completed. It's truly inspiring to see such advancements in disaster mitigation. It was an incredible experience to share our knowledge and expertise with such a dedicated group of participants. The Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road traverses a region prone to natural erosion processes, which can compromise road integrity and safety. Recognizing the critical need for protective measures, we employed the Tecco G65/3 high-tensile wire mesh to fortify the slopes. This system is renowned for its strength and durability, providing robust protection against potential landslides and soil displacement. In our commitment to economic efficiency, we introduced an interception apron as an added feature. Utilizing the same Tecco G65/3 material, this apron acts as a first line of defense, capturing debris and mitigating the impact of water runoff.
