Upon seeing how charming the kids over at Better World Tondo were, our longtime partners from Sodexo Philippines could not stand idly by and instantly put their hands to good use, preparing, cooking, and serving healthy cooked meals to the kiddies. It’s time to mobilize #FoodForChange 🍅➡️ In a world where one in 11 people face hunger, and one-third of all food is wasted, we need to work together to change the status quo. One way to do that is through food banking where we rescue food that would otherwise have ended up in landfills and distribute it to communities who are most vulnerable to hunger. For one, we were able to reach a total of 1.5 million people through our food banking initiatives last year and we're hoping to serve more! Back for another volunteering activity were employees from Amazon Operations Services Philippines, Inc. who engaged with three child development centers (CDCs) in Brgy. Ususan, Taguig City. These courageous volunteers even had to cross an actual river to serve our cute beneficiaries healthy rice-soy meals and assist in their learning activities. The kids from the CDCs and two others also got to enjoy their generous donation of toys and school supplies on top of their day with the volunteers. 🥰🫶 We truly appreciate our Amazonian volunteers for making our kids' day extra special during this volunteer engagement activity. Today, we take this time to celebrate our noble teachers for taking on such an important role in shaping and nourishing the lives of each passing generation. Serving learners in their second home and molding them to become the best versions of themselves is without a doubt an honorable job and one that should not ever be taken for granted.
