  • [𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐍] March is 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 in the Philippines. This year’s commemoration envisions a future where all women from different sectors and backgrounds can claim equal rights, power, and opportunities. Critical to this future is the pivotal role of indigenous women and girls in carrying forward the journey toward biodiversity conservation and in fostering inclusive peace and development. To support these indigenous communities and empower indigenous women and girls, a new targeted intervention in Mindanao was launched through the support of the Government of New Zealand, and with the partnership of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples and UNDP. In time for #WomensMonth2025, UNDP Philippines Resident Representative Dr. Selva Ramachandran pens an OpEd entitled "𝙄-𝙇𝙀𝘼𝘿: 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤."
