Work hours: 9:00am - 6:00 pm Australia time

Compensation range: US$2,000 - $2,350/month

About The Role

Reporting to the Global VP of People, Learning & Development, this is a pivotal position for the organization supporting the Australia & New Zealand business. This role will be the first point of contact for all People-related matters within the ANZ market while supporting the facilitation of our people experience & employee engagement through their value of continuous improvement. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to Regional & Store management teams, as well as employees, by providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. As well, this role will ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies, mitigating risks and maintaining a positive employer brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Store & Regional Managers to provide coaching, support, and drive the People agenda for the stores to ensure that their teams and individuals reach their full potential.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Cultivate the Employee experience by implementing key employee retention, engagement, and performance initiatives.
  • Recommend, scope, and implement projects to improve all stages of the employee lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership, counsel, and best practice information in areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, grievances, talent development, and compliance (Including the Retail Award).
  • Oversee the ongoing management of their HR databases and systems.
  • Support the VP People to prepare employee communications and documents.
  • Lead the Wellness and WH&S portfolio
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to HR best practices and legal requirements.
  • Draft and implement HR processes and policies.
  • Lead key organizational development projects including, the BN Engagement survey process, talent planning, and pipelining, performance processes.
  • Support the preparation for our annual leadership and team events.
  • You will lead, coach, and mentor our HR Coordinator who looks after all of our contracts, variations, first-level employee queries, and HR Admin and Support.

Requirements:

  • You are tertiary qualified with a relevant degree
  • You are a capable HR Professional with 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist.
  • At least 2 years of experience working for an Australian company and well-versed in Australian labor standards.
  • Experience in partnering with other managers and support with a broad range of People priorities.
  • You are hungry to grow and take on new challenges.
  • You have high integrity, understanding that confidentiality, discretion, and tact are a core part of working in a People Leadership role
  • You are an engaging communicator and a great team member who rapidly builds relationships of trust.
  • You role model the values & behaviors tight-knit, constantly improving, and down to earth.
  • Strong understanding of KPIs that you are delivering, and sharing suggestions and ideas for improving performance with your manager and the broader team regularly.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment when making decisions or advising others
  • Be able to maintain composure in demanding situations
  • Be capable of effectively managing multiple demands from a variety of sources
