STEAM Technical Committee Meeting Convenes to Finalize Event Plans. A high-level meeting of the STEAM Technical Committee was held, co-chaired by Mr. Zahid Ali Abbasi, Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department (SE&LD), Government of Sindh (GoS), and Mr. Asif Ikram, Secretary, Colleges, GoS. The committee focused on finalizing event plans for the upcoming STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) competitions. Key milestones include: •⁠ ⁠School-level rounds to conclude by October 31st •⁠ ⁠District-level events to follow The meeting emphasized collaboration with key stakeholders, including: Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Private Schools, College Department and Culture Department. The collective efforts aim to promote STEAM education and foster innovation among students in Sindh.

It's #worldspaceweek and we're really enjoying doing solar observations. This one was conducted at GGHS Shalimar Town in Lahore. Studying astronomy introduces children to the scientific method, an essential tool for fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They learn to observe, hypothesize, experiment, and analyze data, which helps them develop vital analytical and logical reasoning abilities. Engaging with astronomy ignites a curiosity for knowledge, prompting them to ask questions and seek answers. This inquisitive approach not only applies to astronomy but also lays the groundwork for exploring other scientific fields. Astronomy encompasses all of STEAM's disciplines, making it an excellent gateway to spark interest in these subjects. From grasping the physics of celestial objects to utilizing telescopes and imaging software, children learn a variety of scientific and technological concepts. By integrating mathematics for data analysis and engineering for instrument design, astronomy promotes a multidisciplinary approach that nurtures the skills necessary for future STEM careers. #steampakistan #worldspaceweek2024

For #worldspaceweek2024, PAMS conducted a Solar Observation at the School Education Department, Government of Punjab. The session was attended by the staff and personnel from the SED and many of them saw the sun through a telescope for the first time. #worldspaceweek

STEAM Pakistan proudly celebrated Arshad Nadeem's historic triumph at the Paris Olympics 2024, where he secured a gold medal with an astounding javelin throw of 92.97 meters. In tribute to this remarkable achievement, 43 schools from Mian Channu united for a vibrant competition, contributing 142 inspiring submissions. To further honor Arshad’s success, Teachers came up with the ideas to celebrate this achievement in the classroom by developing engaging science and math questions; 'calculating how far Arshad’s javelin throw would travel if the Olympics were held on the moon', fostering creativity and critical thinking. These imaginative activities were designed to connect real-world accomplishments with educational exploration, sparking curiosity and innovation among students. The School Education Department, Punjab, was instrumental in engaging relevant departments to ensure active participation from Mian Channu schools, celebrating Pakistan's pride on the global stage. This initiative inspired teachers & students alike, emphasizing the value of sportsmanship and national pride in education.
