Pakistan Coalition for Education an initiative of Society for Access to Quality Education
Non-profit Organizations
About us
Established in 2005, the Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) is committed to the improvement of quality education in Pakistan. It provides opportunities to collaborate with its member organizations, impacting policies at all levels. The need to have a legal status for the coalition led to the registration of PCE as ’Society for Access to Quality Education (SAQE)’ in 2010. It works in 65 districts with more than 200 members including local Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Parents' and Teachers' Associations, civil society networks working on women's and child rights and education, and is equally important with the Media (e.g. education reporters associations) and representatives of relevant education departments. It also has two radio shows, one on AM 1152 and one on FM 94.2, where it highlights problems with the educational system in Pakistan and suggests steps for its improvement.

📢 Bridging the Gap: Transformative Education Through Collective Action and Effective Financing 📚 💲 PCE recently mobilized coalition members across 10 districts to lead impactful discussions on the declared #EducationEmergency in Pakistan. Through a series of activities—including stakeholder consultations and poster painting—we engaged #communities, local leaders, and #educators in critical dialogue on the current education crisis and the staggering number of out-of-school children (#OOSC) in each district. Key topics focused on: 🎓 The underlying causes of #OOSC and district-specific challenges 📊 Strategies to bridge gaps in access and improve educational outcomes 💡 The urgent need for effective and #equitablefinancing mechanisms to support quality education for every learner The resounding message? Transforming education in Pakistan requires #collectiveaction and increased financing to address the critical challenges our youth face. By fostering these dialogues, PCE remains dedicated to empowering communities and catalyzing the systemic change necessary for a #resilient, #inclusive, and high-quality education system for All. As we commemorate 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝, it is crucial to reflect on the systemic barriers that millions of girls in Pakistan continue to face, especially in accessing #qualityeducation. With around 13.71 million girls #OOSC, and girls being 7% less likely to attend school than boys, these disparities are stark and alarming. Furthermore, 41.5% of girls remain out of school from primary to higher secondary levels, compared to 34.9% of boys. These figures represent a generation of bright, talented girls whose potential is being overlooked❗ #Education is not just a fundamental right, but a key to #empowerment, #genderequality, and a brighter future for Pakistan. Every girl deserves the right to learn, the chance to lead, and the opportunity to shape her future. #DayOfTheGirl #GirlsEducation #EmpowerHer #GenderEquality #EducationForAll #EveryGirlMatters
