PROMOTING GENDER EQUITY IN EDUCATION
About us
Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education – PAGE was launched on the sidelines of the 2013 World Innovation Summit for Education. Its inaugural meeting was held in Doha, Qatar and attended by Federal Minister of Education, KPK Minister of Education, Chair of the Higher Education Commission and representatives of Citizens Foundation and other civil society organizations. It was formally registered in June 2014, under Trust Act 1882 with registration number 1349. As a developing country, Pakistan faces many challenges which must be addressed in order for the country to prepare global citizens and compete in the global market. While we are pressed with a number of issues, education remains a key issue that still requires major intellectual and financial investment. Despite many commitments by the Federal and provincial governments, Pakistan has the 2nd highest number of out of school children. Girls are particularly challenged in accessing educational opportunities because of the physical, cultural, religious and financial barriers they face. Therefore, we have focused on creating innovative solutions to help the most marginalized and deprived overcome these barriers. We believe that both on-the- ground work to reach out and engage communities and policy-level strategic work are critical to bringing about true change. PAGE is a strategic organization working towards creating an enabling environment that ensures gender equity in quality education. PAGE acts as a platform for stakeholders, donors, policymakers and practitioners to come together and address the gender gap in education in Pakistan and to create solutions to overcome the broader challenges the education sector is facing. PAGE aspires to act as a coordinating and facilitating body between Pakistani and International Organizations to achieve efficiently the following goals.

It's truly heartwarming to see the joy on our students' faces as they receive essential supplies at our 4 Star Schools in Thar, Sindh. The delivery of new books, notebooks, stationery, sitting tables, first aid kits, and sports kits is fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging healthy activities, especially among our girls. At Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education - PAGE, we are proud to operate 170 schools across 80 districts, offering non-formal education and accelerated learning programs to bridge learning gaps for out-of-school children. Our mission is to ensure that the most marginalized children specially #girls continue to have access to quality education. This wouldn't be possible without the incredible support from our donors and partners like UniFor Social Justice Fund Canada. Thank you for helping us change lives and create brighter futures! #EmpowerGirls #StarSchools #EducationForAll #TharSindh #PAGEForChange #PAGE #Pageforall #inclusion

Last week, the PAGE team conducted an insightful observation visit to two schools in Peshawar as part of the #ACHIEVE program. This initiative, in partnership with The King's Trust and generously funded by Zindigi (powered by JS Bank), is committed to empowering young girls through skill development and educational enhancement. During the visit, our team met with school heads and witnessed firsthand the enthusiasm of students actively participating in the program. It was inspiring to see these young girls, engaging in confidence-building, communication, and digital skill activities. The students showed remarkable eagerness to learn, reflecting the transformative impact #ACHIEVE is creating in their lives. Through hands-on learning and exposure, this program aims to equip these young girls with essential life skills, fostering a supportive environment where they can explore their strengths and set goals for their future.
