Mohenjo-daro was an ancient city that was part of the Indus Valley Civilization, one of the world’s earliest urban cultures. It was built around 2500 BCE in what is now Pakistan. The name *Mohenjo-daro* means "Mound of the Dead," referring to the large mound where the ruins were discovered. The city was located near the Indus River, which helped it thrive through trade and farming. It was well-planned, with streets arranged in a grid, advanced drainage systems, and houses made of baked bricks. Many houses had their own private bathrooms, showing how much the people valued cleanliness.
