Poland’s new migration strategy, published on 15 October 2024, outlines a forward-looking approach to immigration, emphasizing stronger border security, efficient workforce integration, and support for vulnerable groups. Key focus areas of the strategy include: 🔑 Mission and Institutional Role of Migration Policy Poland’s policy centers on national security, controlled integration, and economic needs, aligned with public expectations. Key institutions like the Office for Foreigners and regional governments will oversee implementation. 🌍 Access to Territory A selective model will regulate entry based on purpose, citizenship, and security, ensuring a managed immigration flow. 🛡 Access to National and International Protection New measures seek to prevent asylum misuse and allow temporary suspensions during crises, with added support for vulnerable migrant groups. 💼 Workforce and Labor Market Integration Targeted recruitment of foreign labor will address sector-specific shortages without affecting local employment. Digital processes will streamline work permits, while oversight will prevent misuse in immigration applications. 🎓 Educational Migration A refined student visa system aims to curb misuse, supporting genuine academic and research-based residency, led by the National Agency for Academic Exchange. 🤝 Integration Structured programs will help foreign residents adapt to Polish culture and language, fostering social cohesion and long-term residency opportunities. 🇵🇱 Citizenship and Repatriation Citizenship and repatriation processes will focus on language proficiency and cultural integration, ensuring alignment with societal values. 🌐 Diaspora and Global Polish Community The strategy strengthens connections with the Polish diaspora, with initiatives for Polish language education and return programs encouraging re-settlement. Additionally, new laws affecting immigration are currently under development and are expected to take effect in 2025. Stay tuned for updates! Source: https://lnkd.in/d6ycUK5c

The method of recording sales in Poland - whether through a cash register receipt (paragon) or a VAT invoice - depends largely on the status of the buyer at the time of purchase.  Here's what businesses need to know: 📌 Sales to Consumers (Non-Business Individuals) Cash register recording - sales to individuals not conducting business activities must be recorded using a cash register, and a receipt should be issued. Invoice upon request - if a consumer requests an invoice within three months of the sale, the seller is obligated to provide one. This invoice does not include the buyer's Tax Identification Number (NIP). 📌 Sales to Businesses Mandatory invoicing - sales to VAT-registered businesses should be documented with a VAT invoice, even without a specific request from the buyer. Paragon with NIP as simplified invoice - for transactions up to 450 PLN (or 100 EUR), a receipt containing the buyer's NIP serves as a simplified invoice. An invoice can be issued for a receipt containing a NIP; however, the original receipt must be returned. 📌 International Transactions Within the EU - if a sale is made to a company within the EU and recorded via a cash register, the seller can issue a VAT invoice only if the buyer's EU VAT number is included on the receipt. Outside the EU - for sales to non-EU companies, the seller can issue a VAT invoice regardless of whether a tax identification number is present on the receipt. 📌 Non-Invoiced Sales Non-invoiced sales refer to a specific type of transaction where the entrepreneur is not required to issue a sales document such as an invoice or receipt. This exemption applies only under strictly defined circumstances. Non-invoiced sales are permissible when all of the following conditions are met: - The seller benefits from an exemption from the obligation to record sales using a cash register - The purchaser of the goods or services is a natural person not engaged in business activities or is a flat-rate farmer. - The transaction has not been documented with an invoice or receipt. All the above conditions must be met simultaneously for a sale to qualify as non-invoiced. Please note that these are general guidelines, and each situation should be assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. ✅ If you’re unsure which method to use, feel free to contact us!  Our specialists will review your situation individually and provide professional help.

🔎Starting from 25 September 2024, individuals in Poland who report workplace irregularities are protected from retaliatory actions such as dismissal or demotion. Whistleblower (Polish: “Sygnalista”) status is granted immediately upon making a report, and the individual's identity must remain confidential. 📌Companies employing at least 50 people are required to implement internal reporting procedures and establish channels for receiving reports. Financial sector entities, like banks, are obligated to create reporting channels regardless of their size. 📌The new law covers areas such as corruption, counteracting money laundering and financing of terrorism, product and transport safety, environmental protection, public health, consumer protection, data privacy, IT security, and constitutional and human rights. 📌Institutions obliged under the Act on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing ("AML Act"), such as banks, investment firms, currency exchange offices, tax advisors or real estate agents had to introduce procedures for whistleblowers as early as 25 September 2024. 📌In accordance with the Position of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy of August 5, 2024 on establishing the internal reporting procedure issued for @Dziennik Gazeta Prawna - other companies may introduce procedures for whistleblowers until 1 January 2025, i.e. when they determine that they employ at least 50 people. ✅If you need assistance navigating these changes or implementing compliant whistleblower procedures, feel free to reach out for our guidance on how to align your organization with these new requirements. #Poland #WhistleblowerProtection #Compliance #Adwisen
