Timber office building. The new headquarters of SYLVA, designed by APA Wojciechowski Sp. z o.o. Architects, are now completed!   A three-story building with a total area of approximately 1.500 m² has been completed in Wiele, near Kościerzyna, Poland. In the spring of 2025, it will become the headquarters of SYLVA, a renowned timber manufacturer with a thirty-year tradition and a part of the French Piveteaubois group. Designed by APA Wojciechowski Sp. z o.o. Architects, this investment is among the first office buildings of its kind in Poland, demonstrating the growing potential of modern timber construction technology, commonly known as CLT (cross-laminated timber).   Investor (Our Client): SYLVA Architectural Design: APA Wojciechowski Sp. z o.o. Odwiedzamy drewniany biurowiec firmy SYLVA w malowniczym Wielu na Kaszubach, w którym trwają prace wykończeniowe. To jeden z pierwszych obiektów tego typu w Polsce. Tym razem to nasi konstruktorzy opowiadają, co działo się „od zaplecza” – czyli jak wyglądało projektowanie konstrukcji z drewna CLT i jakie niespodzianki czekały po drodze.   Jedną z ciekawszych kwestii było bezpieczeństwo pożarowe – bo choć drewno i ogień nie kojarzą się najlepiej, to dobrze zaprojektowana konstrukcja CLT potrafi zaskoczyć swoją odpornością. We are very happy to share the news that Szymon Wojciechowski (APA Wojciechowski Sp. z o.o. Architects) received the Polish Hercules statuette for the 20th anniversary of Poland in the European Union, awarded by the Editorial Office and Scientific Council of the Builder Polska magazine. The distinction was awarded, among other things, for promoting modern architecture and construction in Poland. The statuette, which was cast in bronze and electroplated with gold, was designed by sculptor Tadeusz Tchórzewski and created by sculptor Rafał Cywiński. We would like to thank the Organizers for the distinction and congratulate them on a wonderful gala! Congratulations to all the winners!
