🌱 Yesterday’s Workshop Recap: Packaging Innovations for a Greener Future! Hosted by Campden BRI Magyarország (with the support of EIT Food), the workshop on eco-friendly packaging innovations in food & beverages delivered invaluable insights and groundbreaking projects. Here are some key highlights: 💡Some of featured innovations: - upPE-T Project – Transforming PE & PET waste into biodegradable bioplastics for sustainable packaging. - CIREVALC – Upscaling circular economy models in regional value chains in the food, catering and packaging sectors - KSM Vision? -Yes because our engineering team is pioneering the first-ever self-learning, auto-calibrating system (Inspect 360+ LI RS) for packaging #label #QualityControl, reducing costly and wasteful #mislabeling issues in the #FMCG sector (with whole containers of products being withdrawn from the market, or disposed because of incorrect labels on exported products.) 💡Key Takeaways: 🌍 Consumer awareness of packaging’s environmental impact is on the rise. 💰 Both consumers and producers expect government support to prioritize eco-friendly options. 📦 There’s still a demand for innovative, stylish packaging which doesn’t align with sustainability goals. 🤔 'Eco-friendly consumers' are confused about eco-labels (signs) and bio-packaging (not sure which products /packaging types actually generate smaller environmental impact). Maybe the consumer green education in this aspect should be utterly simplified and straight forward: 'Choose recycled-in-any-way or 100% natural packaging/product whenever possible.'
