As a Military Police think tank, we work for the evolution of MP capabilities to support interoperability of NATO.

The NATO MP COE is an international military organisation which develops and provides subject matter expertise by support of, or in cooperation with, other military and civil actors for further evolution of MP standards and capabilities in order to enhance cooperation and interoperability of NATO nations and military police and gendarmeries in their role in the development of future capability in accordance with the NATO Strategic Concept across the full spectrum of operations.

    FAREWELL AND WELCOME CEREMONY On 13 September 2024, we gathered to bid farewell to esteemed members of the NATO MP COE: - Mr Wojciech JANKOWSKI, translator, - Mr Mirosław FATALSKI, driver. The Director COL Piotr KWAS expressed gratitude for their personal involvement in everyday duties, professionalism as well as truly invaluable support. We extend our best wishes to our former members. Thank you for your significant contribution to the NATO MP COE! Additionally, we welcomed new members to the NATO MP COE, LTC Agnieszka GOCUŁ, Branch Head of the Security Support and Admin Branch, and Mr Marcin Nierebiński, new driver. #wearenato

  • The NATO Military Police Tactical Lessons Learned Forum is an event that has been organised and hosted by the NATO MP COE since 2014. This iteration of the forum in 2024 was held from 2 to 6 September and it focused on Mobility Support Operations. The aim of this event was to foster interoperability amongst NATO forces, more particularly within the MP/GTF community, by collecting and presenting Observations, Lessons Identified, Best Practices and Lessons Learned concerning a specific MP function, i.e. mobility support from the NATO Exercise Steadfast Defender 2024 and other linked exercises. The forum was successful and its main goal was fully implemented and fulfilled thanks to mutual effort of the MP COE staff and participants. #WeAreNATO

  • 𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐘 On 8 August 2024, we said farewell to the Financial Controller, LT COL Marcin Matla. On behalf of the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence personnel, Deputy Director, LTC Till Henrik von KANNEN extended assurances of highest regards and expressed gratitude for his significant contribution to the process of fulfilling the NATO MP COE’s tasks and the Centre's greater recognition. The personnel of the NATO MP COE wish LT COL Marcin MATLA great satisfaction and further success in his personal career. #WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether

  • On 25 July 2024, we said farewell to the Education and Training Branch Head, COL Veselin GEORGIEV. On behalf of the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence personnel, Deputy Director, LTC Till Henrik von KANNEN extended assurances of highest regards and expressed gratitude for his significant contribution to the process of fulfilling the NATO MP COE’s tasks and the Centre's greater recognition.   • 𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐘 🇵🇱 On 18 July 2024, we gathered to bid farewell to esteemed members of the NATO MP COE: - Branch Head of the Security Support and Admin Branch, - MAJ Ryszard Skoczylas 🇵🇱, Staff Officer, Education and Training Branch, - CPT Piotr Langiewicz 🇵🇱, Public Affairs Officer, - CWO Artur Koguc 🇵🇱, Chief of Central Registry. Director COL Piotr KWAS 🇵🇱 emphasized that the departing members had set exceptionally high standards right from the outset, and their dedicated work had played a pivotal role in the continuous growth of the NATO MP COE. We extend our best wishes to our former members, hoping they continue to achieve even greater success in the next chapter of their personal careers. #WeAreNATO

  • 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 From 17 to 20 June 2024, the Operational Detention Forum 2024 (ODF-24) was held in Poznań, Poland 🇵🇱. The said event is organised and hosted by the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence (NATO MP COE) in collaboration with the UK 1 Military Police Brigade. The primary objective of the forum was to actively engage the community interested in issues related to Captured Persons (CPERS), foster coordination for upcoming activities, and gather valuable best practices and observations pertaining to CPERS and Prisoners of War (POW) from recent operations. The knowledge acquired during the forum is intended to guide and enhance future actions in these areas. #WeAreNATO

  • The seventh edition of the 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 has been successfully completed! Its purpose was to prepare the Military Police Senior Officers to work in a complex international environment, focusing on the NATO MP perspective. Subjects for the course were chosen according to the Military Policing Discipline identified educational and individual training gap based on needs of MP senior officers, so that they could contribute to the fulfilment of their professional duties, responsibilities, as well as respond to challenges in a multinational environment. Our special thanks goes to the facilitators for outstanding contribution and delivery of high value lectures during the course. #WeAreNATO
