Today we celebrate the World Cities Day. According to UN predictions, by 2050, 70% of the world's population will live in cities. K2 building in Gdynia is extraordinary in many respects - we have applied the highest standards here, such as a room height of 2.9 m, suspended metal ceilings, smoke detectors, LED lighting, fan coil units, tiltable windows, inside window blinds, radiators, raised floors with installation cushions, entrance doors with access control, spacious reception areas, four high-speed elevators, a CCTV camera system with a generator supporting the 24-hour building security system and the BMS building management system. Modernity and comfort, but not only that! Less than a year has passed since we received permission to renovate the first three historical buildings in the Stara Rzeźnia complex in Poznań, and we are already finishing the renovation of the first of them: a beautiful villa once used for administrative purposes by the meat processing plant closed in the 1990s. This representative building also housed an employee kindergarten at the plant. In the future, all three will change their function – to office and retail while regaining their original shape and appearance. But first, there’s still a lot of finishing work ahead of us. "We plan to open a project office in one of the buildings currently being renovated, where you will be able to see a model of Stara Rzeźnia and obtain information about the investment," announces Rafał Przybył, Regional Manager of Vastint Poland. Meanwhile in Poznań, work is in full swing on the Portowo construction site. The future estate will be located on a large area of 47 acres. We will build 47 buildings here, which will house nearly 1,800 apartments of various sizes. What we see in the photo is just the first stage of the project’s construction, covering 377 apartments: all apartments in the first stage will be intended for rent. The residential development slopes down towards the river, without blocking the view of the lush, waterside greenery. A waste segregation and recycling program is in place during construction. The project assumes maintaining a large amount of permeable surface, which will facilitate water retention. A dedicated reservoir, integrated with the irrigation system, will also provide protection against possible flooding in the event of heavy rainfall. The construction is being carried out by Mostostal Warszawa S.A. according to the design by APA Wojciechowski Sp. z o.o. Architekci. Did you know that at the beginning of 2025 new regulations regarding the provision of an appropriate number of charging places for electric cars will come into force? This is not only important for building managers, but also for users, because it is very practical news for them - it is estimated that as much as 30 percent of electric cars are charged with energy drawn from charging stations in office car parks. We take care not only to provide charging places in our car parks, but also to educate ourselves and our tenants by holding alternative transport days as part of our hospitality programme. Work is well underway in Poznań's Stara Rzeźnia: we will soon start finishing the interior of one of the villas facing Garbary Street, while continuing to refine the details of the façade brick by brick as you can see on the photo. There are new roof tiles - they rest on a completely restored roof truss - the photo shows a view from above and from below. We had to hurry to keep the rain out. The architectural concept of the #StaraRzeźnia (Old Slaughterhouse) was developed by UGO ARCHITECTURE (the late Przemysław Borkowicz and Hugon Kowalski), and the final design was created in the JSK Studio under the supervision of Mariusz Rutz and Zbigniew Pszczulny. The general contractor for current renovation and construction works (two villas and a historic porter's lodge) is ERBUD GROUP.
