What is the most significant advantage of building open-source software instead of proprietary software? 🤩 We could mention security (self-hostable + the code is reviewed by thousands of users), a shorter feedback loop, cost-effectiveness, longevity, or sustainability. But what I want to mention today is the community. 🤩 The number of use cases and requirements for any software is endless. As a software vendor, you could aim to chase them all. But your Engineering/Product team will never be big enough. 😪 Instead, there is something much more powerful that creates a flywheel that delights all users: the community. 💜 From core contributions to community support and plugin creation, I am continually amazed at what the Strapi community builds. 🙌 What triggered me to publish this post today is the amazing Comments plugins from VirtusLab (cc Mateusz Ziarko): https://lnkd.in/eP2-nSCb. With this new extension, you can easily collaborate with your team to create and manage content faster. 🤝 As the main sponsor behind the open-source project, we obviously thought about adding such a feature (and we will probably add it at some point). Our role is to enable the ecosystem. It is fantastic to see our partners taking the lead. 🚀 I am delighted to see an entire wave of new projects (Cal.com, Inc., Meilisearch, Medusa, PostHog, Twenty, and more) that better serve their missions, thanks to their respective communities. 👏
