🎯 Last Monday, the e.Biofilm team had the privilege of hosting a 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, presented by Darla Goeres, with the topic of discussion "𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰". During the meeting, aimed for all PhD students from the Biofilm Engineering Lab from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, several approaches commonly used for writing a literature review were discussed. 👏 Thank you for participating and making it a success! #eBiofilm

Yesterday, the students participating in the internship at FEUP had the opportunity to visit the e.Biofilm laboratory.

The 1st UPorto Research Summer School in Microbial Communities, with the motto "Taste of PhD Experience" started on the 8th of July and will continue until the 25th, with the aim of preparing participants for life as a doctoral student. 🎯 Yesterday, Prof. Nuno Azevedo presented a lecture on "Biofilms: Structured Microbial Communities". PhD student Vânia Pinheiro also presented her work on "Utilizing Transcriptomics to Map Functionality in a Multispecies Chronic Wound Model".

📣 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐕â𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐨 🎯 PhD student Vânia Pinheiro talks about her academic journey and background in Bioengineering and her professional achievements that lead her to pursue a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at FEUP. 🧪 Vânia explains her research for e.Biofilm, consisting in the development and optimization of a multispecies chronic wound biofilm model, use of a transcriptomic approach, molecular techniques and confocal microscopy imaging.
