Had a blast at Ethical Assembly last week in #Lisbon. Patricia Imbarus did an incredible job curating this event, bringing together a lot of passionate people from the impact space. Highlights for me were meeting my friend Christopher Storey from Sea Shepherd Global again and attending a massive cleanup with lots of volunteers. Also, I had the pleasure to speak about our work at Plastic Fischer GmbH and meet great people that I’m looking forward to deepen the conversations with. Thanks for your time and passion everyone 💙 Lisa Roolant Lisa-Marie Bosbach Nuno Lourenço João Pedro Machado Hugo Warner Julian Ellis-Brown Chris Hotell Sònia Hurtado Raquel Gaião Silva and many more 🙏🏼

EN: It took me two days, but after some rest, I finally found the words and energy to do a post about the Ethical Assembly, and all I've got to say is that it was MAGIC ✨(it deserves an all caps really). Besides amazing panels led by people whose work I admire (hello Hugo Warner and Islene Façanha), I've got to hang out with dear friends like Verónica Belchior (she/her) and Carlota M. (whom I finally had the pleasure to meet IRL). The summit served as a gathering and community spot for all of us working in social impact. I left just feeling refreshed and ready to continue taking action. I could highlight many more workshops and moments (like those with Rebundance, Canela and Please Disturb Tourism Experts), but I'll leave you with a carousel of photos that pretty much sum up everything that was happening. Thank you to everyone who put this amazing event together 💗 It was my first time, but not last.

Over the past two days, I have been lucky enough to attend a variety of amazing talks, presentations and workshops at the Ethical Assembly in Lisbon, and it has been an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience! As a student, I was thrilled to be part of such a meaningful and dynamic event focused on three ever-prominent pillars of sustainability, social justice, and ethical innovation. The sessions have been eye-opening, with truly inspiring, powerful talks from Hugo Warner, Marta Cortegano, Pedro Conceição, and Kat Hamilton (to name a few!) covering topics ranging from climate action and equitable development to human rights, circular economies and regenerative agriculture. I was particularly inspired by the innovative solutions being shared, which highlight how impactful collaboration across sectors can be. This event has not only expanded my knowledge but also reinforced the importance of taking an active role in shaping a more just and sustainable world. The conversations, the networking with like-minded individuals, and the opportunity to learn from pioneers and entrepreneurs in the field have all been invaluable, and I am delighted to be leaving with fresh perspectives, practical insights, and renewed motivation to integrate these learnings into my studies and future works. A massive thanks to Deborah Gray at Canela for inviting me and hosting a wonderful presentation and workshop with Catarina Oliveira on leadership; and a huge congratulations to Patricia Imbarus for organising such a wonderful event.

Yesterday, I attended Ethical Assembly, a Climate and Social Justice Summit. I got to hear a talk about fashion and beauty supply chains and their effects on sustainability, learn about the different types of sustainable packaging, vertical farms, and urban agriculture. It was great to hear the audience's opinion on these last two topics and understand the different perspectives. More than that, I got to deep dive into how the #beauty, #fashion, #agriculture and #food industries affect our world and the importance of being more sustainable especially now that we are aiming to achieve the #SDGs to “build a greener, fairer, better world by 2030”. It's always great to learn more about how we can #Impact and improve the world we live in

Let he who has never sinned cast the first stone. But the question is: have we learnt how to avoid repeating the same mistakes? Yesterday Deborah Gray, Canela's Founder and CEO, and Catarina Oliveira, Canela's Portugal Director, organized a workshop at Ethical Assembly in which they shared with several entrepreneurs the main ‘sins’ of Communication and how to avoid them. It was a conversation full of stories from our directors many years of experience, where there was plenty of laughter, questions and the desire to do better and better. 💪💡 #Events #PRAgency #Communication
