GEOSAT, SATLANTIS and CEiiA // Centre of Engineering and Product Development formalized the Iberian Space Partnership agreement, an alliance between Portugal and Spain that aims to accelerate the #AtlanticConstellation, that will provide enhanced resolution and revisit for #EarthObservation in the areas of sustainability, asset management, emergencies and security. The agreement between GEOSAT and Satlantis thus represents an important milestone for space cooperation between Portugal and Spain, opening up new opportunities for technological and commercial development in the Iberian space sector, as well as contributing to the implementation of the NEW SPACE PORTUGAL program, whose mission is to consolidate Portugal as a space nation over the next decade. For Francisco Vilhena da Cunha, GEOSAT's CEO, this partnership “accelerates the operations of the Atlantic Constellation from Portugal, with a new satellite, #GEOSAT3, which will serve as a precursor for the entire Constellation, while at the same time establishing the basis for developing new optical satellites, responding to market challenges related to revisit, resolution and new sensors”.

The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) measures plant health by analyzing how vegetation reflects visible and near-infrared light. Higher NDVI values indicate greener, healthier vegetation, while lower values signal sparse or stressed areas. Our NDVI data over Lisbon provides valuable insights into the health of parks and green spaces. This data helps smart cities optimize green space management, improve environmental sustainability, and enhance the overall quality of urban life. #Mapping #SmartCities

A Digital Terrain Model (DTM) represents a terrain’s surface, excluding structures and vegetation, making it essential for #UrbanPlanning. GEOSAT provides high-resolution stereo pair satellite imagery, enabling the creation of precise DTMs—such as this one over Hyderabad— that help visualise elevation and terrain contours. This data supports urban planners in assessing land suitability, guiding infrastructure development, and mitigating environmental risks like flooding. #MappingRevolution #GeoMapping

A #mosaic is a composite image created by stitching together multiple satellite images to provide a detailed and seamless view of large areas. GEOSAT’s mosaic over Sintra, Portugal, showcases our expertise in combining high-quality satellite imagery for accurate #mapping. Consistent lighting from our sun-synchronized orbits ensures uniform shadows, improving the precision of the final product. Our mosaics support a range of applications, including #UrbanPlanning, #EnvironmentalMonitoring, and resource management.

GEOSAT's #UrbanChange detection product offers significant benefits for managing urban development by providing near-real-time tracking of land-use changes, infrastructure expansion, and environmental impacts. See how our satellite images reveal the evolution of new construction areas in Madrid. By delivering large-scale, consistent, and accurate data, we help urban planners identify trends like deforestation and urban sprawl, supporting informed decision-making for sustainable development and disaster management. #UrbanPlanning
