👏 We have concluded the 2nd edition of the ISA Braga Acceleration Programme with great enthusiasm! It's been weeks of intense work, training and co-creation, dedicated to developing impactful solutions that promote employability in the Roma community. _ The Braga Open Social Innovation Programme is an initiative that fosters the development of innovative projects focused on meeting the social needs of the Município de Braga. It also promotes the generation of synergies between social organisations, companies and knowledge institutions, creating relationships of cooperation and collaboration to respond to the various challenges that arise in this context. _ The participants put in their best effort and are now preparing for the final pitch on 11 November at the Fundación ”la Caixa” (Oporto). 👏 Braga's Human Power Hub recognised as an URBACT Good Practice _ We are very proud to announce that the Human Power Hub (HPH), a Social Innovation Centre integrated into BragaHabit E.M., has been awarded the URBACT Good Practice label. This recognition, awarded by the URBACT European Territorial Cooperation Programme, values the impact and innovation of the HPH in promoting projects with a social impact, as validated by the URBACT Monitoring Committee and a panel of independent experts. _ URBACT, a programme co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, promotes sustainable urban development throughout Europe, covering the 28 Member States, Norway and Switzerland. The distinction received by the Human Power Hub not only integrates the HPH into a European network of reference projects, but also reinforces its role as a driver of social and urban transformation in Braga and the region. _ Created in 2020 and funded by the Portugal Social Innovation Programme through the Partnerships for Impact measure, HPH's mission is to accelerate and incubate entrepreneurial initiatives focused on social transformation. Its methodology, inspired by the ‘quadruple helix’, promotes active collaboration between the public, corporate, social and academic sectors, creating innovative solutions to community challenges. _ URBACT ‘s recognition will provide greater visibility for HFH, and our participation in the URBACT Cities Festival from 8 to 10 April 2025 in Wroclaw, Poland, stands out. This event will bring together the 116 European practices honoured as URBACT Good Practices. _ Human Power Hub now joins a network of innovative and sustainable practices with the common goal of transforming and strengthening communities, taking an important step towards implementing new methodologies that enhance local social and economic development. _ We are deeply grateful to the entire HPH Community, partners and friends who have contributed to this recognition - this distinction belongs to all of you too. The Human Power Hub hosted the Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC) Workshop yesterday, bringing together representatives from the business sector to debate Braga's sustainable future through the Local Green Deal! _ This meeting was a unique opportunity to dialogue about the challenges and opportunities of the ecological transition in our municipality. URBACT National Campus: Participation of the URBACT Cities for Sustainability Governance (CSG) and Cities After Dark networks. _ On 22 and 23 October 2024, the Torres Vedras Environmental Education Centre hosted the URBACT National Campus, a key training event for future sustainable urban planning in Portugal. The city of Braga, which is part of both the Cities for Sustainability Governance (CSG) network and Cities After Dark, took an active part, sharing its experiences and knowledge, acquiring the essential tools for implementing its Integrated Action Plans. Agenda highlights: - Day 1: Focus on preparing for implementation and developing funding strategies; - Day 2: Presentation of integrated action plans and exploration of local funding opportunities. _ The event culminated in the inspiring Climate Fresk workshop, which discussed the importance of ensuring that Integrated Action Plans are truly green and sustainable. _ It was a relevant meeting for promoting collaboration between cities and fostering a more sustainable and inclusive future.
