🚢🇳🇴🇵🇹 Norwegian business delegation visiting Portuguese Ports 🌊⚓ This week, a Norwegian delegation visited Portuguese ports from March 19th to 21st, following up on a visit by the Portuguese Ports and Maritime Administration to Oslo and Bergen in June 2024.   This mission focused on port modernization, digitalization, and decarbonization —key priorities for the future of offshore wind and the green maritime sector. A Noruega aumenta significativamente o seu apoio à Ucrânia para 2025. O Parlamento norueguês decidiu – com o acordo de todos os partidos – aumentar o apoio à Ucrânia em mais de 4,3 mil milhões de euros, totalizando mais de 7,2 mil milhões de euros para este ano. 🇳🇴🤝🇺🇦   O financiamento da Noruega ajuda a permitir que a Ucrânia se defenda contra a Rússia e apoia também o plano de paz que os países europeus estão a desenvolver. A nova alocação eleva a estrutura geral de financiamento para o Programa Norueguês de Apoio Nansen para a Ucrânia para até 17,4 mil milhões de euros.   EN// Norway is significantly increasing its support to Ukraine. Once again we are heading to #Portugal, this time both with our Vestervind Contractors and Vest Kontakt AS also representing Norwegian Offshore Wind and the export working-group of Portugal working alongside the working-group of Ports & Infrastructure also joining. A strong and dedicated team taking part in the Innovasjon Norge and EEA and Norway Grants initiative as a part of the Blue Growth Program. The ocean and the blue economy have always been at the heart of bilateral cooperation between Portugal and Norway, in multiple ways, from fisheries and maritime trade, to shipping and seafaring, to oceanography or ocean renewables, and more. In June 2024, a Portuguese high-level delegation visited Oslo and Bergen. The delegation included representatives from all entities responsible for maritime and port administration, government representatives and other relevant public agencies. They met with Norwegian counterparts and private companies such as ourselves, and learned about our solutions and technologies for port modernisation, maritime operations and decarbonisation that are highly relevant to Portugal and for cooperation. The timing and context of this visit was significant for bilateral relations. As the the offshore wind sector is developing, Portuguese authorities are drawing up plans for extensive investments in upgrading and modernising ports and shipyards, including marine control traffic management and single window systems. This provides great opportunities for bilateral cooperation with Norway where we are working hard to connect Norwegian Offshore Wind members such as our own Vestervind Contractors to the local market and opportunities which arise from this. The people of 🇺🇦Ukraine have resisted Russia’s full-scale invasion for 3 long years. Any solution must be just, lasting, & guarantee Ukraine’s full independence, sovereignty and freedom to choose its own path, now and in the future. Over the last week, the Norwegian Embassy has stood together with the Ukraine Embassy in Lisbon in their events marking the anniversary, including their screening of the film “Bucha”, which depicts the horrors of war and the resilience of the Ukrainian people, and their high-level conference "Unseen Civilians - A Global Call for Justice" at the Nova School of Business and Economics. The heroic efforts of the Ukrainian people throughout over 3 years of horror is deeply impressive. They are also fighting for European security, and the core principles of international law.
