نبذة عنا
Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) is a Qatar-based company established in 1974 and is a joint venture between Industries Qatar (80%) and Total Petrochemicals (20%). QAPCO is one of the largest producers of low density polyethylene (LDPE) in the region. QAPCO is involved in a number of joint ventures that include QATOFIN, QVC and QPPC, thereby, producing various petrochemical products and making QAPCO a regional petrochemical powerhouse. LDPE is considered as the most widely used type of plastic, with applications such as food packaging, agricultural films, toys, cables and wires, coating, lamination and many other products broadly used all over the planet. The LDPE produced by QAPCO - marketed under the brand name of 'Lotrene' - is a high quality food-contact safe grade polymer and complies with all local, EU and U.S. FDA standards related to food packaging safety. QAPCO’s manufacturing facilities consist of: • Three LDPE plants with a total annual capacity of 780 KTPA • Two ethylene plants with a total annual capacity of 840 KTPA • A sulphur plant with an annual capacity of 70 KTPA The LDPE produced in Qatar is exported all around the world. LDPE enriches our everyday life, making it more practical, safer, lighter and better.

أطلقت #قابكو برنامج التدريب الصيفي لعام 2024، الذي يعتبر أحد أهم التجارب التي يمكن للطالب القيام بها خلال دراسته الأكاديمية والتي بدورها تمنح الطلاب الجامعيين التقنيين وغير التقنيين فرصة تجربة العمل الفعلي ، حيث استضافت #قابكو 78طالباً من جامعات وتخصصات مختلفة لمدة 6 أسابيع، وذلك من خلال استخدام منهجية التعلم المختلط التي تجمع بين الزيارات الميدانية المباشرة وورش العمل. #QAPCO has launched its Summer Training Program for 2024, which is considered one of the most valuable experiences for students during their academic studies. This program provides undergraduate students, under both technical & non-technical fields, with the opportunity to gain firsthand experience. QAPCO hosted 78 students from various universities & disciplines for a duration of 6 weeks, utilizing a blended learning approach that includes direct field visits and workshops.

QAPCO was honored with the prestigious award for its Support and Liaison with the Education Sector during the Energy Sector Annual Qatarization Review Meeting. H.E. Minister Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi chairs the energy sector’s 24th Annual Qatarization Review meeting His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, chaired the Energy Sector’s 24th Annual Qatarization Review meeting in the presence of senior executives and representatives from the companies participating in the Energy Sector Strategic Qatarization Plan. In remarks opening the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs presented an overview of the Qatarization plan and its alignment to the Qatar National Vision’s human development pillar. His Excellency Minister Al-Kaabi said: “It is important to maintain focus on the Human Development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, set out under the leadership and guidance of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.” Providing an overview of the energy sector’s unprecedented growth and the significant milestones in the upstream and downstream activities, Minister Al-Kaabi said “Qatarization’s new challenge is to adapt to the ambitious growth necessitated by the expansion of our industry.” H.E. Minister Al-Kaabi outlined the sector’s progress in expanding LNG production to 142 million tons per annum by 2030 – more than doubling the current capacity after adding Golden Pass production, and QatarEnergy’s historic shipbuilding program with agreements to build and operate 104 conventional-size vessels and 18 QC-Max class vessels – the largest ever built. Minister Al-Kaabi also highlighted important projects like the enhancement and modernization of Qatar’s oil fields, raising petrochemical production through mega projects like the Ras Laffan Petrochemical Complex and the Golden Triangle Petrochemical Complex, and the expansion in solar power generation with the introduction of two more solar plants in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed Industrial Cities, which will double solar capacity to 1600 megawatts. #Qatar
