In 3 hours Atlassing our team manged to record about 4 species at #karagolake by using Birdplus and eBird https://lnkd.in/dfwwJgBQ. Data collection involve teaching local community the important of nature to take action in nature conservation, Bird mapping is the tool which will help to understand bird distribution in Rwanda and conservation needs from species to species. Since #Rwanda adopt policy of Zero-grazing in 2007 to keep livestock in stalls and bring fodder, the farmers would plant grass in their terraces as alternative way to feed their livestocks. However on other hands wetlands are being destroyed by hundreds of fodder sac collected every day in Rwanda Wetlands. from conservation awareness and collaboration with local community we believe that wetlands threats will be minimized to ensure sustainable conservation.
