Meet Thomas Schulz, who just celebrated his 25th work anniversary with ASSA ABLOY. He began working as a student in 1999 and today holds his seventh role in the company as Director & Head of Marketing DAS in the Opening Solutions EMEIA division. “I remember my first days at the historic IKON factory in Berlin. I was impressed by the facility and its rich industrial heritage, but even more fascinated by our core product – security. It is physical, tangible, and serves a higher purpose. Today, we offer digital access solutions that demand robust cybersecurity. What an incredible journey it has been!” says Thomas. It’s the range of opportunities, close personal relationships and strong internal mobility at ASSA ABLOY that has kept Thomas committed for so long. He encourages his colleagues considering a change to explore the many options within the company. “I’ve changed roles multiple times and also worked in Australia & New Zealand, which has given me a diverse and fulfilling career, and I’ve always felt well-supported,” he says. When not at work, Thomas enjoys life with his partner in the vibrant city of Berlin. Some days are spent exploring the city's rich culture and opportunities, while others involve kayaking on the lakes or recharging in the forest. He loves the balance between urban living and nature. Today ASSA ABLOY announces the third quarter results. We report operating profit and currency adjusted sales growth of 5%. The sales growth was driven by strong acquired net growth of 4% and a small positive organic sales growth, while currency effects were –3%. Aurora Rogmark is our AI Catalyst, working with Generative AI (GenAI) in the Group Technology Team. She initially joined us as a Master’s Thesis Intern at ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, where she developed five AI/ML models for forecasting sales. “Currently, my work involves developing Large Language Model (LLM) solutions for the patent and product domains, evaluating and developing new GenAI use cases for various business applications, and collaborating with our AI Ambassadors” Aurora says. The interest in GenAI is increasingly growing and recently Aurora got to share her knowledge through a GenAI webinar that broke the attendance record at ASSA ABLOY. “Perhaps paradoxically, I find that GenAI’s artificially generated output represents the most human-centric technology one could ever work with, as it seeks to imitate and enhance the creative output and productivity of people. While the development of these solutions is inherently technical, the underlying philosophy is just as much about understanding the mind, behavior, and human ingenuity” she says.
