𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘇 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘇 presenting the 1-year result of the 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙎𝙏 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮: 𝙖𝙣 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙨𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙧𝙮𝙨𝙢 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖 (SV) & 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮 (SVB). ➡️ largest study for the low-profile flow diverter compatible with .017’’ microcatheters ➡️ 234 patients included (145 for SVB), 29 sites in 9 countries ➡️ primary outcome about safety & plan is to follow the patients for 5 years ➡️ 1-year FU : 220 patients were analysed on safety & efficacy ➡️ SVB : most of the aneurysms were ACA or MCA bifurcation ➡️ morbidity was 5.8% & mortality 0% ➡️ complete occlusion at 12 months was 76% for SV & 81% for SVB ➡️ intimal hyperplasia was around 6% 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙖 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙑𝘽 𝙞𝙣 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨. 💡𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝘋𝘳. #WFITN2024 #INReporters - focused session-pediatrics: 👉 𝗗𝗿. 𝗞𝗼𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘀 presented on 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙨 𝘿𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙮 (CD). Craniopagus conjoined twins are extremely rare, reported 1 in 2.5 million live births. To date, 62 separation attempts in 69 well-documented cases of craniopagus twins have been made. CD is a debilitating condition that will affect 2 lives & impacts both functionality & quality of life for both individuals. The speaker showed the impressive expertise these teams were able to build over ages. Surgical separation of the twins requires the consideration of many facets of the brain, skull & venous anatomy. The rotation axes between skulls convexities & the rapid closure of venous drainage are difficulties that can impact outcomes by causing cerebral hemorrhages. The 𝙊'𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 considers the degree of rotation & each of these cases must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. I really want to express my admiration for these teams 💡𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝘋𝘳. #WFITN2024 #INReporters - Morning session: Highlights on two talks about AVM management : first one about EVT in AVM & 2nd one about conservative management with an interim analysis of the TOBAS Study. 👉 𝗣𝗿. 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 reported the 1-year results of 𝘾𝙃𝙊𝙄𝘾𝙀 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 - 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙨𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙑𝙈𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙌𝙐𝙄𝘿. He presented the FU of 109 patients : ➡️ 63% were previously ruptured ➡️ 79% were less than 3 cm ➡️ 178 embolizations procedures were performed ➡️ Mean number of sessions per patient was 1.6 ➡️ At 1-year overall mortality was 1.9% & the overall morbidity 11.6% ➡️ Occlusion rate on DSA was complete for 63.2 % in the embolization arm & 54% total.  👉 𝗣𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗼 then presented the interim analysis of the 𝙏𝙊𝘽𝘼𝙎 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 about conservative management of bAVMs: results of the observation registry of a pragmatic trial. ➡️ interim analysis reported clinical events during FU of patients that clinicians did not want to treat (n=498 patients with AVM). ➡️ registry is mainly composed of unruptured AVM patients (87%), low or high grade in equal proportions. ➡️ over a follow-up period of 3 years, observed patients have experienced low risks of new or worsened disability or death (1.7% per year) mainly driven by new major intracranial hemorrhages (2.6% per year). ➡️ concerning low grade AVMs: the found rate of major hemorrhages was 1.3%, resulting in death or disability in 0.6% per year.
