BOLAG FICK EXKLUSIVA MÖTEN I NEW YORKS STARTUPVÄRLD 💡🚀🍎 I maj tog vi med oss fem bolag, som antingen får eller har fått vårt affärsstöd, till New York för en djupdykning i stadens dynamiska ekosystem för innovation och entreprenörskap. Resan är en del av en mångårig strategisk satsning för att knyta band mellan vår inkubator och aktörer i regionen. Vi träffade ett dussintal spännande organisationer och aktörer, bland andra Cornell Tech, en del av Cornell University som fokuserar på teknisk innovation och entreprenörskap genom avancerad utbildning och samarbete med näringslivet, acceleratorprogrammet WEVE Acceleration och SACC-USA (Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce). Det blev också ett stopp hos advokatbyrån Reitler Kailas & Rosenblatt LLP på temat etablering och kapitalresning i USA, och en Peer Review i regi av SISP - Swedish Incubators & Science Parks. – Den här typen av resor är en fantastisk möjlighet att utveckla och fördjupa samarbetet med världsledande inkubatorer och acceleratorer, både för Uminova Innovation och våra kollegor runt om i Sverige. Det är en chans att utveckla processer och verktyg, men viktigast av allt, knyta värdefulla kontakter för våra bolag, säger Maria Olofsson, verksamhetsledare. De fem bolagen som följde med – Arevo, Brain Stimulation AB, MYoroface AB - HealthTech bolaget bakom IQoro®, Hero Imaging och Vitala – har alla innovationer med koppling till life science, bioteknik eller helthtech. Bolagen gavs gott om tid att träffa potentiella kunder och samarbetspartners. Alumnen MYoroface som utvecklat IQoro, en neuromuskulär produkt som behandlar grundorsaken till bland annat halsbränna och sura uppstötningar, tvekade inte att åka med.  – För mig är det väldigt mycket värt att följa med på redan inplanerade och uppbokade möten med aktörer vi själva skulle ha svårt att få till träff med. Utbytet med de andra bolagen är också viktigt. Vi ställs inför ungefär samma frågor och tankegångar, och att kunna prata om det tillsammans ger mycket värde. Vi närmar oss till exempel en FDA-ansökan, en process som både Vitala och Brain Stimulation gått igenom, säger Ylvali Gerling, grundare och vd. Och resulterade resan i konkreta actions? – Ja, vi ska idag faktiskt skicka in en ansökan till ett program i regi av Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce som vi fick nys om på resan, och vi tittar också på om acceleratorn Wave kan vara ett steg för oss. Peter Bäckström från Enterprise Europe Network Västerbotten, medarrangör till resan, tog med sig idel positiva intryck hem från New York. – Jag imponerades av hur väl bolagen tog vara på de möjligheter som gavs. Att vi i norra Sverige är framstående när det kommer till affärsidéer sprungna ur forskning blir tydlig en sådan här gång, men också att den här typen av utforskande dialogerna behövs tidigt för att förstå förutsättningarna i USA.
