Our CEO, Karim Engelmark Cassimjee, is attending the AI_4_LIFE: Biotech Future Forum in Belgrade this week. Today, he will be on the “Sowing the seeds of sustainability” panel at 2:30 PM. The event, sponsored by the World Economic Forum, underscores how Serbia is going “all in” on AI and biotech, the technologies that are fueling this new era of innovation. The big question is: how can we shape the changes wrought by accelerating innovation? As technology progresses at an ever-increasing rate, how can we prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution? If you’re in Belgrade and want to chat with Karim, ping him on LinkedIn! #sustainablechemistry #technology https://lnkd.in/dJaa2wFc

Developing technologies to meet the sustainability goals of the future
Om oss
Our ambition is to play a key role in tackling climate change, by enabling green chemistry for every industry. We do this by creating the most general and efficient technology platform for chemical production that the world has ever seen. That’s a big claim, but we can stand behind it. By bio-upgrading the chemical industry with our cell-free biomanufacturing platform, we can produce the products that modern society relies on in a truly sustainable way. The technology platform utilises nature’s catalysts, enzymes, by combining the power of biology with the efficiency of the chemical industry in a best-of-both-worlds solution. EnginZyme is recognised as a Technology Pioneer by World Economic Forum and backed by Sofinnova Partners, Industrifonden, SEB Greentech VC, Bunge Ventures, Almi Invest GreenTech Fund, and Navigare Ventures.

Karim came back from the KI Science Park breakfast even more energized than usual — thank you for organizing this wonderful event.
What an amazing start to the KI Science Park Fall Business Breakfast! A heartfelt thank you to Karim Engelmark Cassimjee for enlightening us about the fascinating world of enzymes and your commitment to creating a greener, brighter future. It was truly inspiring to see such a diverse crowd engaged in meaningful conversations and asking thought-provoking and relevant questions touching different aspects of you presentation. This embodies the spirit of the KI Science Park Community: sharing knowledge, learning from one another, and embracing diverse perspectives. We look forward to seeing you at our next Business Breakfast in October with Janet Hoogstraate. A big thank you to our partner A Working Lab for letting us use you cozy café. All our events can be found on our website calendar. As always, invitations go out to members first, and registration opens for non-members one week prior to the event. https://lnkd.in/dFVgRZSZ #kisciencepark #awl #hagastaden #campussolna #community #lifescience #aworkinglab

Our own Federica Ruggieri has shared a great read in Quanta Magazine by writing an inspiring essay on what ribbon diagrams mean to her. The Quanta article by Yasemin Saplakoglu is here: https://lnkd.in/ePsK3zHP #womeninscience, #proteins
Last week I read this wonderful article in Quanta Magazine about Jane Richardson, the woman who invented the ribbon diagrams that are ubiquitous in the world of protein science. The author, Yasemin Saplakoglu, captures the importance of what Richardson accomplished. But she also captured something that is often overlooked: to be a scientist, you need to have a little bit of an artist in you. Her article inspired me to write this essay for enginzyme's website. I hope you will read and enjoy both articles! https://lnkd.in/dn8S2QnE

Hey everyone! I'll be speaking at the Biotech R&D Forum in Stockholm on September 10th. It's an afternoon event where we'll dive into digital labs and collaboration tools in Biotech. My talk is about "Orchestrating data collection with (and without) generative AI" - I'll share some insights on how we can leverage LLMs to streamline our data processes, and where traditional methods still shine. Benchling and ProPharma are organizing this, and we've got some great industry folks sharing their experiences too. If you're interested in biotech data management software and curious about how generative AI might make an impact today, come join us! It's free to attend, but space is limited. So if you're interested, grab a spot soon. Hope to see a mix of familiar faces and fresh perspectives there!

Our Lead Research Scientist Sebastian Gergel will receive the German Chemical Society Award for Biocatalysis at a ceremony Sept. 12. His dissertation was praised not only for the originality and excellence of its content but also for its linguistic and visual elaboration. The work laid the foundation for further projects and formed the basis for papers like this one (below) in Nature Catalysis. "We are happy and proud to have a distinguished scientist like Sebastian on our team," said Karim Engelmark Cassimjee, enginzyme's CEO. "He is a highly skilled researcher and a great person to work with." 🎇 Congratulations Sebastian! 🌟 #biomanufacturing #sustainablechemistry https://lnkd.in/e7G4QRdP

Our latest article is all about robots. We love our lab robots because they save so much time. In this piece, David Lloyd, our Senior Lab Automation Engineer, discusses one of robots' major limitations: they have to be told exactly what to do. Why can't we teach them the basics, and let them learn from experience? And why can't we have robots that get motivated by the purpose behind their mundane tasks? #AI #robotics #greenchemistry
